Have not been keeping up with recruiting these past couple years as much as I used to. Is our avg star ranking not indicative of the quality of some of these low 4 and high 3 star players especially from out of state?

Covid has greatly impacted all the camps and scouting events where guys get ranked. In general, the star ratings are iffy, but this year has to be worse than normal. Jimbo has a long enough track record that I trust his offers. If you look at the offer lists on some of these guys you'll understand you'll wonder why they aren't ranked higher. Brown had offers from Lsu, Bama, Penn St, Miami, etc.

The ratings are a step below the last two classes, which were great by our standards, but the class still has plenty of good recruits. I think landing LJ Johnson and Bruce Foster, both who we are in good shape with, would go a long way towards the perception of this class. Otherwise, it would just be another good class we've landed most years.

Just flipping through past 247 classes (and I'm not sure when their rankings started to match whatver "accuracy" you prescribe to them today), this year's class has a higher avg. recruit rating than every Sherman class and all of Sumlin's classes except for that 2014 Myles-Allen-Speedy bonanza. It might seem a little underwhelming but that probably says more about how well Jimbo has done so far.

Ballers. Daniels and LJ would be a nasty RB combo. Love what Brown could offer either as a slot WR or slot CB

That RB class would be great. And regarding Brown's versatility, that probably carries extra weight when we are running out of spaces in the class. I wonder if they will take another WR or just take Banks and let all of the youth at the position sort itself out.

We’d absolutely take the right WR. Like Thomas.

Was going to ask if Covid had hurt just as far as the sites being able to evaluate with no camps or travel and cancelled games. I did see the offer lists when I went to the recruiting board threads, so that’s good. Also good point on the avg compared to Sherman and sumlin, guess the last two years have spoiled us.

Does anyone know if the new commit Brown is projected to play CB or WR? Seems like there's talk of both

Sounds like an offensive weapon like Smith.

I’d like to see him play nickel corner because I think it’s a bigger need right now but doesn’t really matter. He’s a player.

I'm pretty sure the recruiting has been better than the results of "stars". I think Fisher really, really knows what he wants in talent evaluation

That won't be an issue. I'm pretty sure one of the QB's is transferring at minimum

I am interested to see how the scholarship limits work with this season as well. We are in a great spot when it comes to DL recruiting though

That would be so sick! With them and Foster, Both sides of our lines would be insane. Saw Fadil Diggs get some snaps last night too!
