Got to keep ER. Will be interested to see what he does at OC. Johns at Duke hasn’t impressed me much but at least it showed he will do a legit search since he had no connection with him. Hopefully he can upgrade with a bigger budget.

Now there’s reports that Elko is taking 24 hours to decide if he wants to leave Duke, So Elko pay raise to stay at Duke incoming.

At the risk of sounding like a hypocrite (because I don’t excuse Jimbo for it after 3 straight years of it) Elko did lose his starting QB and has been playing his 2nd and 3rd string this year. At a school like Duke you aren’t going to have a deep roster at QB. Hell most schools don’t with NIL and the portal. I’ll give Elko a little bit of a pass for that.

To be fair to Bobby P, and I say this as somebody who wasn't really a fan of the hire, he wasn't even allowed run his own offense. It's hard for me to be mad at an OC when he hands were tied.

He also returned only like 20-25% of his previous starters. One of the lowest in the country.

Not my first choice but a good choice nonetheless. Excited to have a def3nsive HC for the first time since RC. Nail the s&c coach and oc hire and it could be really good

Elko is not the super exciting hire some people wanted, but the players seem to love him and he recruited a lot of the 2022 class. Carter Karles on 247 said Elko is a much better recruiter than most give him credit for.
I would like to see him hire an exciting young OC, while it appeared Petrino was handicapped calling Jimbo's offense and he showed some decent stuff once Jimbo was fired I think he is way past his prime.
