Now that scout and 247 have merged, a lot of popular message boards are gone (everyone was forced into 247 boards...they suck). Membership has declined for some of the combined boards due to the merger. Texas Tech's biggest forum was RaiderPower, but now it's called Inside the Red Raiders (just as corny as RaiderPower, but harder to roll off the tongue). It's not as active as RaiderPower once was. Their users used to be very active in hating A&M.

And speaking of hateful institutions, I hate that BaylorFans no longer exists. They had barely gotten their mobile page working only to be sold to some other independent entity. It's literally TexAgsNorth now (and they've lost people due to that ). They've leased the TA code so their site is basically a green version of TexAgs.

TexAgs, SEC Rant, Tiger droppings, Shaggybevo, and Hogville may still standing, but it's scary to think how quickly any of those sites could end due to ownership change.

That would suck. These independent boards are light years ahead of the paywall sites in vibrancy and ease of use. Let’s hope that continues.

Forums are one of those things that has to Spring up organically. The Aggie community here is actually pretty small in comparison to texags. I think we probably have only two or three dozen active posters. Triple that in lurkers most likely. As Internet communities go that's on the small side, which is fine.

I will say that the rent is probably the only really active conference for him I have ever seen on the Internet. It's certainly unique. A national treasure, even.

Don't think of Tigerdroppings as merely a sports site. The broad offering of topics keeps me around, and the layout keeps me from going anywhere else.

I remember a thread a few weeks ago but cant find it, summed up, most of them didn't like how self deprecating we are, and how we embraced and threw back at tRant all the gay stuff.
