He went on a rant about how a large portion of society would rather root for someone or something to FAIL than to succeed and that the media in all forms is the worst at spreading it.

100% agree. We've all evil, envious people who want to bring everyone down around us to make ourselves feel better. That's why we all need Jesus.

Definitely. Every A&M message board was filled with people ready for Mond to fail so they could dump on him for his beliefs.

He’s not wrong. Now, wether or not he thought of that himself is another story. Maybe chasing athletes around on NG is a great time to get some thinking done...

Politics, A&M QB’s, yes it’s accurate in a lot of instances.

I wouldn’t say we were ready for him to fail, he already had. We had seen 3 seasons of his play and knew what we had.

Couple that with the fact that student athletes aren’t having their tuition and schooling paid for to preach to us about history and social justice causes, and he had his fair share of critics (rightfully so IMO).

Bill Belicheck/Nick Saban syndrome. You can be an arse and get away with more stuff if you win games. Don’t win, and you’ll get more criticism. Until this year, Mond had like 3 good games vs good opponents: Clemson 2018, LSU 7OT game, and probably one more I’m forgetting.

The Texags politics board has been positively APOPLECTIC ever since the Florida game. Multiple threads every week that the mods have to delete going off on our uppity black QB who they can't stand receiving praise for his play.

It's deranged and embarrassing. I vehemently disagree with the whole movement to remove Sully, but the posts about Mond on that board are disgusting.

It is his opinion and he should be entitled to it. Just because we pay his scholarship to play football doesn't mean we control his rights to express himself. As long as he is not profiting form his SJW movements, he hasn't broken any NCAA rules.

Am I missing something? When has Kellen Mond ever been an arse?

Played like an arse? Sure. But acted like an arse? No. The dude has been nice to fans and has stayed out of police trouble. He's never acted like Bill Belichick with the media.

Not that he’s been an arse to the public, but my point being more that if you win, you can do more of what you want and receive less criticism simply because you win games. Kinda like Johnny getting away with all kinds of partying, and then Kenny hill doing the same and falling flat on his face.

And I didn’t say he wasn’t entitled to an opinion, just not push it on everybody else. He’s been up there ringleading some of the protests to try and get it taken down.

That's his right. A football scholarship doesn't take away that right.

If you don't like his messages, then don't listen to it. The more you talk about it, the more it gets publicized.

Have not seen that at all. Pretty much all Mond talk disappeared after the protests on campus disappeared. There is either selective focus for you on a few scattered threads or you are pulling a talking point out if your arse on this one

I know Roger's making that part up b/c I've spent far too much time on that board the last few weeks, and a certain other big news story has been dominating discussion. Might want to get that prescription checked if he thinks it's been a bunch of Mond talk.
