If you change that to "one at best" between those three I might agree.
We are exceeding expectations this year so far, but I'm not counting chickens and what not we have a long way to go.

I could see us winning one of those three games but losing to MSU
The other wild card is if Auburn makes a QB change. They have plenty of other issues besides that but goddamn Johnson is awful.

I agree with Sarge. We need a little more koolaid flowing.
The truth is that we really don't know how good this team is, because we have not truly been tested.
It's not a positive or a negative. We have had no competiton so far. We could run the schedule and STILL not get REALLY tested until October 17th when BAMA comes to town.
The rest of SEC looks very weak so far, but we have not. What we have learned is this:
1. The D looks better. Shitty OOC teams could score at will on last year's D. Not so this year. We have some issues, but much better than last year.
2. Kyle Allen has made a few mistakes, but has otherwise been solid and the O looks dangerous. The run game is going to take a few more weeks to gel, but it is still something that other teams must respect. They cannot just stack the box or they will get burned, but they also have to maintain respect for it on every play. Mission accomplished. That's what we needed.
3. We have a shite ton of talent all over the field. We can play with ANYBODY.
4. Everybody on the GD roster has gotten much-needed in-game experience, including two water boys and a few trainer girls. We pretty much cleared the benches in the last two games. That is much more valuable than points on the board or margine of victory.
5. Last week we went first on first with Ball State. Result: 49-3. This past week appeared to be a mix of 1st and 2nd throughout the game with a VERY BLAND bit of scheme on both sides of the ball. Result was not nearly as close as the score. We had some slop, but it needed to get exposed.
6. We still have some shite to clean up and the coaching staff is admitting it, despite the wins. That is a very good sign to me. The coaching staff is not letting the players buy into the hype or record. They are not tolerating just getting a W. They expect perfection on every play from everyone. Those are the types of teams that win championships. They never are satisfied. That is a huge positive IMHO.
7. We have an easy schedule. Our toughest game appears to be at Ole Miss. That team looks tough, but they are VERY beatable.
8. There is not one single inked-in L on the calendar. Everybody is beatable. We could win out. We probably won't, but I cannot point to a single game that we are clearly disadvantaged.
I am not calling for a koolaid overflow here either, but to think people are already talking about making changes when we haven't even been close to losing is rather extreme and disingenuous.
Take it 1 game at a time. Forget last years collapes because it sounds like the coaches and players have not, which is good.

I was talking to greenbastard about him claiming that us scoring on the first drive against Ball State and Nevada doesn't count.

Bravo. I agree wholeheartedly.
Ticked to death that we've had depth play lots of minutes. Thrilled we had our 1s dominate enough to let it happen. Didn't happen at all last year.
Remember, all we were asking for was an AVERAGE defense. I think we are there and might be a little better than average.

I think the average defense hope was predicated on our offense being elite, which they arent yet.

I don't think they were elite last year, and this offense feels better than last years. Can't quantify it but it does to me.

Like I said earlier I just have a bad feeling, I hope I'm wrong but I trust my gut and it is telling me something ain't right. Not trying to be all doom and gloom, it's just how I feel is all.

Roger.....peeing in the koolaid? Really?

His post has lots of merit and I agree we probably win 9 games. My issue is I dont see any way we can match up with the fron seven of OM, Bama or LSU and no way our interior defense stops Bama and LSU.

I have had the same feeling. I keep coming back to it.
WHY???
The media gave other teams with similar rosters and records MUCH more hype (Auburn). We have been largely overlooked, even NOW. I can't figure out why, other than everybody jumped the gun last year, and they are gun-shy now. But, I have not seen the same issues as last year.

no need for Bama

1. Both are awesome and top ten teams 2. Both are average with a couple of weaknesses and one or two good strengths (LSU's being LF and the o line, States being Dak)
I agree with everything you said in the op and this post except for this. I don't think they are mutually exclusive. A lot has to be said for lsu being in their first game on the road against a quality opponent that pushed our stuff in last year. The gameplan dictated the outcome. I'm not saying we are all world yet (although I am super pumped about the start) but if we lose more than 2 games I will be shocked.
I think you guys are good this year. There is no reason that we have seen thus far to write yall off based on the way the season has looked all around yet. The offense hasn't been as explosive as I expected yet but plenty of time still to gel. The defense has been better than I expected so it's really a wash thus far.
I still feel a year or so away for you guys but who knows what will happen this year. You're undefeated. Have a higher quality w than half the conference right now. Get pumped. The offseason is for doubting...the season is for hoping/willing!!!

Absolutely. The auburn game can't get here soon enough. I feel like at some point they will make the necessary adjustments and start to play much better. Too much talent not to.
