The biggest overnight development regarding Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M rumors is that we have learned of details from a meeting that took place yesterday before practice. The meeting was not out of the ordinary, as FSU regularly meets on Monday's as a team prior to practice.
The content of the meeting, however, is noteworthy.
A source in the room at the time tells Noles247 that Fisher walked in with a message, "Focus on the regular season and don't worry about all that stuff (coaching rumors) right now."
We're told players asked questions and that even though Fisher answered, he never confirmed that he plans to stay at FSU or deny the rumors that have him heading to Texas A&M.
This same source was in the room last year when Fisher addressed the LSU rumors and says Fisher's message last year was in stark contrast to what was said yesterday. Last year Fisher was direct, "He said, straight up, he wasn't going (LSU)."
Noles247 has also learned that coaches remained active on the recruiting trail as of Monday evening. The message to players currently committed to FSU was that the staff and team were ignoring coaching rumors and focusing on preparing for Saturday's regular-season finale against ULM, although no clarification about Fisher's future was given.
This latest bit of info continues the trend that this year's rumors surrounding Fisher having a different tone - or feeling - than in year's past. It feels as though the door is ajar for a potential departure and hasn't been shut by Fisher, despite opportunities to do so in public and private settings in recent days. Some of that is intentional, to wield power at the bargaining table, but it doesn't seem to be solely about that this time around. The possibility of a departure is a very real potential outcome of this situation.

Not to change the subject BUT...
If Tennessee is able to pull off the Gundy hire after the shitshow over the weekend that would be absolutely amazing. Talk about a comeback
Wow.

Offering $8.25 million/yr? Crazy but gotta do what you gotta do

I think the Fisher hire is a homerun for aTm. You aren't completely dismantling your offensive scheme if he comes in, but he will provide a more pro style read option offense based on his personnel. I think he will help you win some recruiting battles with Texas. aTm needs to go back to good running games and stopping the run, and Fisher will be able to get the recruits and be able to scheme better to do that.
With all that said Sumlin was a good coach and will be highly successful somewhere, particularly in the Big 12 or Pac 12. Just wasn't a good fit for the defenses in the SEC west, but he seemed to run a clean program.
Congrats if you get Fisher....

Haha I laughed at that too. Last thing I want is a clean program. As long as we don’t get all Baylor

Tennessee for Gundy. Not sure if true though

I wouldn’t be shocked, they are terribly desperate at this point and it would be a great hire and shift the power in the east

I would love to see Gundy at Tennessee. Great coach who fits like a glove with that crazy fan base and we don’t have to play him much

8 million plus is a true money whip.
The VOL search is super pricey. They may owe money to Schiano and then Gundy package.
I think their AD will make this hire and then resign.
