Looks like Mike Gundy not even listening to offers. Content at Okie Lite
quote:
Carson Cunningham Carson Cunningham @KOCOCarson Pat Jones says Florida offered Mike Gundy the job after Chip Kelly & Scott Frost. Says Mike didn’t use it to negotiate with #okstate. "This job was offered to Mike Gundy."

That's funny. I was thinking there are a lot of LSU posters that are frantically reacting. Gone from "A&M dreaming" to a "big mistake that won't matter anyway".
It's hillarious.

Look, if the numbers are true, he’s about to be the second highest paid coach behind saban right?
FSU can’t compete and won’t

I think FSU could keep him if they REALLY wanted to. If they were coming off a NC, I bet they would commit the salary money to him, to assistants, and make some promises regarding starting facility upgrades and he would be staying. But a year after doing this and coming off a down season I don’t think they want to go down that road again. And I am fine with that, because I think Jimbo is a really good coach

Yep, perfect opportunity. They just did this last year and now we are offering him 2 million more per year and probably guaranteed 5 out of the 7 years
FSU will not even counter offer

the main thing i got from listening to about 25 minutes of that podcasts is that the hosts have a very low opinion of the a&m football program.

FSU is about to learn that money can buy happiness

Don't really blame them

Fisher would be a solid hire. My question though (without knowing much about your offensive personnel) is how do they stack up compared to what Jimbo wants to do on offense?

not sure about that. we never even got into negotiation. sounds like we just threw that "eff you money" at him and he acquiesced. Would you really put it past our money guys to pay him 10+ million for 8 years if it came to?

How incredible must it be to be so fricking rich you can throw around money like that just to show your dick is bigger in college athletics. Maybe that’s why we’re poor and the BMAs are not

Read this earlier this morning on a FSU message board...
quote:
Texas A&M leads the nation in revenue and is pulling in a whopping $192,608,876. That’s what happens when you generate $45.8 million from ticket sales, $92.1 million from contributions, $47 million from rights/licensing, and $7.7 million from other areas.
FSU...$20,206,022 in ticket sales, $32,382,845 in contributions, $36,140,389 in licensing, $8,364,645 in student fees, $16,660,413 in other areas for a total of $113,754,314. That's a big difference.
We just cannot compete in this arms race.
