Because I grew up a rangers fan and had my heart ripped out of my chest not once, but twice. Then Nolan tucks tail and runs a few hours down 45 and wins a championship in a few seasons. I’m jealous and bitter... That’s why, damnit.

Really strange seeing 'stros fans celebrate a Cardinals accomplishment...oh well. Have fun with it.

i'd never invested so much emotionally, and physically, into a baseball season. i never will again. investing in one perennially ineptly managed sports team is enough for me.

Still remember where I was when that dream ended. Had been working late on the Northside and stopped off at some random sports bar on 1960. It was a moment of painful solidarity shared with all the vatos who had been there all night.

I played it cool on here, but Aggiebelle tells me I looked like death warmed over frick, I had to go to work that night immediately after the game, too.

Had to reevaluate how I watched sports and digested losses after that series. I legit didn't even turn on ESPN until the Spurs played the Heat in San Antonio that December (the game LeBron ditched the Batman-looking mask and complained about sleeved jerseys after SA kicked their arse). Wanted to give up watching basketball. It was BAD Way worse than 2011 t.u. for me for some reason.

Made 2014 that much sweeter, though. But if 2014 hadn't happened I don't think I'd be able to talk about 2013 to this day.
