I hear you and all, but can I get a gif of the 12th man knocking out the Tennessee player and causing a fumble. I'm gonna just post that in every ut thread when the go full retard.

This was Alvin Kamara's coming out party. It is likely that Bama is going to have their hands full next week too. Jalen Hurd's best game this year was 110 yards rushing in OT against App State. His injury "forced" Butch to bench his guy and finally play Kamara who was the consensus #1 All Purpose Back in the country before committing to Bama.
Kamara did what only 1 running back in 20 years has done in P5 football with his 127 yards rushing and 161 receiving.

The yards they gained is really a reflection of our offense not controlling the clock.

Our D forced turnovers and our O went 3 n out. One really needs to think about it from the perspective of yards allowed vs points allowed. Take out the fg in OT and we only gave up 32 points out of 725 yards. That's damn impressive.

Tennessee was a big win, but to me it sure felt like a loss. We gave up a ton of yards on D and we could never really move the ball on O. Mazzone's play calling is average at best.

I have a bad feeling Alabama is going to stomp a new a-hole in us.

Naw man, this is a wrecking crew. Our offense didn't have a single long drive to eat up clock all game. The defense was on the field for so long it was nuts.

I wouldn't say Mazzones play calling is bad, Spav would have us at 2-4 right now. The tenn defense ran right through our o line last night. It's just not ready for prime time and we knew before the season it wouldn't be. And so far Mazzone has game planned with the use of Trevor's feet around that.

My biggest beef with Mazzone is that he quickly goes away from what is working. With the running back we have, why did we even throw the ball in the 4th? He has no clue on how to manage a ball control offense.

We ran the ball well enough to put the game away in regulation. Touchback isn't on his play calling

Each game has it's own identity. This one, we gave up yards and won. 6-0.

I agree, but I would say not converting vs. controlling the clock. A&M was 2 yards or less away from shutting the game down before overtime multiple times. They managed the clock pretty well. They started their 4 min offense a little early at 5 mins., but the stadium clock issues made it really difficult to manage for Knight.

And that poor clock management goes back to part of my beef with Mazzone.

Anyway, we won.

I thought Mazzone called a hell of a game. Trevor Knight just sucks at throwing the football. If we had an accurate qb, this game would have been over in the third and we would be favored in every game we play from here on out.

Yeah the announcers even said they were daring Knight to throw.

I will take the win.

The Wrecking Crew exists as long as Von and Garrett have long NFL careers.

Like I said in a different thread, there was nothing wrong w/the playcalling. Knight just has a very poor game reading the defense. He could have easily had a ton more big plays if he would have kept the ball more on the read option and he consistently missed the fact that we had one on one coverage on the outside w/no safety help. He likely would have had a several more long runs (if not straight up TDs) and absolutely would have converted on multiple 3rd downs had he simply pulled and ran.

Even w/him playing like arse most of the game the offense still should have put up 42 in regulation if not for Traveon letting up and fumbling the ball out of the endzone. It's also not like Tennessee is a shite defense.

playcalling is the lazy fan excuse for everything tbh.

I can only believe they were giving different looks than he saw on film and he never figured it out in game. Because he might as well have been pure guessing on the zone read.

Even the TD in the 2nd OT was the wrong decision. He just fought for the TD. He hands it off and TW is in untouched.

Time of possession was 32:23 to 27:37 in favor of Tennessee. That's not really all that wide of a gulf in TOP and w/all the stops in the second half for injuries it's not like there was no time for them to rest. The TOP would likely be closer to even had Knight and Williams not both busted open 60+ yard runs there near the end.
