My SO and I went to the Rangers game last night (always fun to see the Astros melt). Turns out we sat in front of a young couple, both of whom were Former Students

I went to the Rangers at Astros a few weeks back and sat by current students from SA. Cheering for the Rangers of course.

Back in the late 90's/early 00s most of the other students I met were from the cities or their burbs.

What?? How old are you?

Just turned 34 recently. Today College Station feels a lot more burb than it did in 2003. Then it felt like a kinda rural town bolted to a kinda shitty town.

Class of '12 here: I majored in Computer Science so YMMV, but I'd say >90% of the people I met were from suburbs of Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas. I imagine majors closer to mechanical engineering were more varied, and of course the Ag school, but almost everybody was from a suburb. I'm from Temple, but even that is effectively a suburb with no nearby big city. Not as many shitkickers as there used to be, for better or worse.

My major attracted a lot of stereotypical A&M kids (as perceived by outsiders), and even still, most were from suburbs

C'mon, don't be a wimp!

We already know CokeBottleAg's dad was my guidon bearer and slashed my shirt and my back and was better known as "Grodebag"... which is a pretty good story. I'm pretty sure CokeBottleAg's absence has nothing to do with that.

ETA: And I'm a dunce. It cannot be T-Bird '10 unless your dad started parenting REALLY early. But I also don't know anybody from F-1 who migrated to Oregon. So 'fess up. SafetySam and I need to know.

Your dad was most likely '81, then. The plot thickens. You know I'm going to CS tomorrow to meet up with '80 guys, right? We'll get to the bottom of this.

Hahaha, you definitely know who my pops is. I just like to keep anonymity on the Internet. Just so you don't go asking, my dad and both uncles were in F-1 in the late 70s/early 80s. You definitely don't need to know more now

OK finest don't tell us who his dad or uncle is.

Just tell us an embarrassing story about them using made up names to protect the innocent.

Not sure who your dad was but I'm pretty sure of the family. And I have my minions working on it. If I'm correct, your dad/uncle was an evil genius with explosive shite and screwing with his classmates... well, me.

Will relate stories once the minions report.

I've heard more than a few stories of door bombs, so you have the right family

I think the word you are looking for is urban.

BTW, the only rural part of Texas worth a shite is south of I-10 and west of I-35.
