Clemson did not sustain many drives all night.

We missed out on st least six easy points (missed 20 yard FG, fumble inside the 20) and two of their TDs were set up by an egregious no call for offensive PI and a terrible roughing call. The fumble out of the end zone call didn’t end up being that bad because we got it right back and scored anyway.

This was VERY close (like 4-5 plays) to being a 30-35 to 14-17 type of win for us. The hardest part of coaching is teaching a team how to win once they are talented enough to compete every week. Last night you saw an improved team that doesn’t quite know how to do everything right to win (coupled with terrible officiating.

The term I picked up from Jimbo’s pregame speech is “grit”. We saw that last night.

I’ll be honest, I am now fired up for Bama, we may not have the horses but our boys will make a game of it, I’m certain

Lets not forget the big picture: for recruiting the close loss last night was almost better than a win.

Sounds weird, but it makes for an easy pitch of “with you we have enough to win that game” and recruits seem to be buying.

The last two weeks basically ended the reign of Tom Herman. He lost the fans losing to Maryland, and he lost the recruits he wanted when we almost beat Clemson. Fun part is he HAS to get at least one more year because they can’t actually afford $20+ million to buy him out after this season, and so by the time they hire a challenger Jimbo will be in full swing.

It feels a lot like the start of the Mack Brown era but we are on the other side of the fence this time.

Didn't get a chance to tweet this on Saturday, but was fortunate to attend the @AggieFootball - @ClemsonFB game.

I've been to a lot of sports games in my life, and the atmosphere in Kyle Field on Saturday was one of the best I can ever remember.

That’s from the Texans and former SEC socia media/website guy
