Former Texas A&M standout Ricky Seals-Jones was arrested last weekend for assault, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing, according to Arizona’s KTAR.com.

Seals-Jones was arrested after he tried to get inside the W Hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona, to use the restroom. When Seals-Jones was denied access to the hotel restroom, he tried to gain access inside the Sushi Roku restaurant, and he was again denied access. He then became combative and shoved an employee in the shoulder area, per the report.

Seals-Jones then attempted to walk past hotel staff but was taken to the ground while appearing intoxicated.

The Cardinals are aware of the arrest, but they had no further comment.

There is a big difference between Scottsdale and Vegas. Vegas wants everyone in gambling. This is a boutique hotel that didn't think he was staying there so they didn't want him there. Either RSJ was drunk and being an a-hole about getting in or the security there is overzealous AF. There was a Mariott in our hometown they tried to keep people out unless they stayed there. In HS we'd sneak in to take a piss when we were out in town center.

Ho hum We Rich

“Auction update: four Legacy Club 50 yard line tickets plus pregame field passes for A&M vs. Clemson just sold for $20,000. Then the fellow who bought them donated the tickets back to be auctioned again. They sold the second time for $15,000“

Was at the Texas High School Coaches Aaociation banquet tonight to see my friend Alan Weddell get inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame. Even though he played for Texas and won a national championship there, Alan fell in love with Aggieland when he tenured under RC Slocum as linebackers coach as won a big 12 championship. He has been an avid A&M supporter for over two decades and travels to nearly every away game. He is very derserving of this honor, as he basically created a high school football dynasty in the 90s and won three back to back state championships. He had a 50 game regular season win streak and posted 107-13 record at LaMarque.

I was hoping to see Jimbo, but they had a recruiting event that got moved to this weekend. I’m pretty sure BDP was supposed to sit at my table.

He still hunts in Victoria and remains very close friends with his coaches and athletes there.

U.S. News & World - 10 Universities with the Largest Endowments

School name (state) End of fiscal year 2016 endowment
Harvard University (MA) $35,665,743,000
Yale University (CT) $25,413,149,000
Stanford University (CA) $22,398,130,000
Princeton University (NJ) $21,703,500,000
Massachusetts Institute of Technology $13,181,515,000
University of Pennsylvania $10,715,364,000
Texas A&M University—College Station $ 9,858,672,136
University of Michigan—Ann Arbor $ 9,600,640,000
Columbia University (NY) $ 9,041,027,000
University of Notre Dame (IN) $ 8,748,266,000
The endowment data above are correct as of Sept. 28, 2017.

I am surprised Columbia does not have a higher number, it was established in 1754. Should have been racking up some compound interest over all those years to be closer to Yale and Princeton.

I don't think the LSU posters on that thread really understand how the TAMU endowment is structured. The current estimated total of around $11 billion is the sum of two endowments.

The TAMU share of the Permanent University Fund (PUF) is around $9 billion, maybe more. The PUF is a sovereign wealth fund.

The Texas A&M Foundation is the fundraising arm gathering gifts and donations for the university. They have assets of around $1.9 billion, as of Dec. 2017.
A&M Foundation

Combined, you get the $11 billion estimate.

Only a few U.S. states have sovereign wealth funds of significant size, which probably explains the unfamiliarity on the subject.

The 12th Man Foundation is the fundraising organization for the athletic department that gathers donations for A&M facilities, salaries, recruiting, scholarships and athletic programs. They are pulling in about $45 To $50 million per year in private donations.
12th Man Foundation

The A&M athletic department pulled in about $211 million last year. Presumably, this total includes what the 12th Man Foundation contributed.
