our boys looked good last night after a slow start.

I'm a little hoarse today because of it Well worth it, though. They played well after that shaky start. Crowd was awesome too.

What's your favorite Mexican food restaurant?

Tomatillo's. It's on Broadway across from Half Price Books. Been a family favorite for my folks as far back as I can remember.

I also like La Pasadita just off I-35.

Um no. The a-holes in Dallas are a completely different breed than the fine folks in Ft Worth.

Does anyone have any insight as to why Baylor hates A&M so much? I understand why Tech and Texas do, but I don't get where all the animosity from Waco comes from.

Severe little man syndrome + us pummeling them for decades has always been my guess, but I honestly have no idea more than that. We also have a strong knack for making people dislike us as well, but that's in general, not specific to Baylor.

I always thought it stemmed from so many of their women being with Aggies. Then couple that with the pummeling they normally get from us. And add on the fact that for the longest time we were the uncouth country heathens in the eyes of their socially sheltered momma's boys outlook. Well you naturally get oil and water.

we're extremely close proximity and Baylor was for a long stretch of time, about the same size as A&M. I think the fact that over the last 30 years or so we went from a primary rival to not giving a shite about them results in the bsc effect

Rarely do I come across a ******.com thread that blows my mind, but the one about Dee Dee Ramone sporting an Old Sarge Texas Aggies shirt on the cover of "Rocket to Russia" has done just that, especially since I've always loved the Ramones.

This is the true heart of it, when A&M was all male who's women do you think they kissed at football games in Waco? Fort Worth? Austin?

An old Ag that I love tells lots of great old stories, weeks before an away game they all would have dates already lined up with girls in these towns. Local boys and male students from the opponent HATED this and a lone Aggie with his local date was certain to be jumped and assaulted by a mob if caught alone. Aggie cadets therefore traveled in groups with their out of town dates but from time to time.....you wanted to be alone in the trees with a gal.....if set upon by locals who intended to do you harm the lone cadet would yell "FARMERS FIGHT!" and any cadet within earshot would know that a solitary cadet was being ambushed and rush to the origin of the call. One year in the late 50's a mob of 100 or more Baylor students waited in some woods armed with bats and rocks, then one shouted Farmer Fight, as cadets ran into the woods to aid what they thought was a cadet in trouble they were ambushed themselves.

My friend told me that the uniform was the GOLDEN TICKET for lovin. All the girls from Baylor,Tu and the other schools wanted to be seen with and date and ......well let's just say a man in uniform and the possibility of being a soldiers wife was a much greater attraction back then.

Let's just say Jake88 was driven to this little gem:

quote:

Don't prove ATM to be a school for a flock of short busses. Face it, the most famous player to come out of ATM in the last twenty years is a cognitively impaired, histrionic, alcoholic, addicted waste of oxygen and hope.

He's a rotten piece of shite and the pride of ATM. Laughable, truly laughable. Total fricking embarrassment.
