Showed toughness and grit you don’t see in college athletics anymore

Now we wait to see if Trev pulls the trigger or not

Is the A&M job desirable? If so, fire him.

I believe it is. Maybe I’m one of a handful that believe that, but I certainly think it is. We’ve already proven with the right coach we’re an Omaha caliber program (amongst other qualities I would call desirable). Now we have to find the right coach

I also think this job search is different than last year given that Trev, if he is looking for a new HC, won’t be starting the day after the very last game of the baseball year. A massive disadvantage we had to face last year

Why in the world would we fire Earley?

Before we get into a deep back and forth. Are you in the keep Earley camp?

Thirteen of sixteen SEC teams are in the bracket. Texas A&M, who reached the CWS last year is not one of them. Texas A&M had much of the same talent as last year. That points to a problem. Early was an experiment that didn't work out. He has to go. Gotta face up to this now. He will be gone as soon as the SEC summer meetings are over.

I say one more year. But then again I don't know who is available. Is there a hot board yet?

I highly doubt anyone is paying to dump a coach in year 1 when all the BMAs are still eating shite on Jimbo.

He's almost certainly done coaching at A&M. He was hired to capitalize on a good-to-great short term opportunity and he turned in one of the biggest failures in modern college baseball history.

I'd argue it much easier to cut him a check than it is to convince the fanbase to give him another year of support (that he's likely incapable of doing anything with)

This mindset is a big part of why our athletic program sucks. Time to start pulling the trigger on coaches a little sooner

And at what point do you think quality coaches will quit signing with us because they’re afraid they’ll get kicked after one shoddy season regardless of the circumstances of their entry? Yea, we were loaded with talent, but a transition is a transition, and you can’t rush that.

It is absolutely mind blowing that there are folks who watched that season with the talent we had and want to retain the person in charge of it. Folks who seriously think that way (not Pat obviously)

Employing Michael Earley as HC does more damage to the A&M baseball program than firing him does. Good coaches will not give a single frick what happened to a loser coach like Earley.
