2018 and 2019 stats comparison - through three games

Both the 2018 and 2019 teams played an FCS school, Clemson and a Sun Belt team through three games.

2018 - 285 yards/game
2019 - 174 yards/game (decrease of 111 yards/game)

Passing Offense

2018 - 311.3 yards/game
2019 - 292.7 yards/game (decrease of 18.6 yards/game)

Total Offense

2018 - 596.3 yards/game
2019 - 466.7 yards/game (decrease of 129.6 yards/game)

Scoring Offense

2018 - 44.3 ppg
2019 - 37.7 ppg (decrease of 6.6 ppg)

Rush Defense

2018 - 79.7 yards/game
2019 - 83.7 yards/game (increase of 4 yards/game)

Pass Defense

2018 - 251 yards/game
2019 - 184.7 yards/game (decrease of 66.3 yards/game)

Total Defense

2018 - 330.7 yards/game
2019 - 268.3 yards/game (decrease of 62.4 yards/game)

This is known as the “sternberger” effect

Offense isn’t clicking well and is sloppy is what those numbers tell me.

6 turnovers for the offense in our first 3 games? I knew we had a few but not that many, gotta get that cleaned up.

Sternberger and I think not having Erik McCoy has been a major factor.

Also known as "played Clemson on the road and our QB was more like himself so we had 200 less yards of offense" effect
