I just read that Tyron Johnson has NOT put in his LOI yet..even though reported that he did earlier..he has not?!?

I said over 4-5 years. One year doesn't make a team.

I understand how they compile their "average" ranking is complicated, but once they have that average I have no idea how the overall points get calculated. Another example:
Clemson - 25 recruits at 89.48 average
Auburn - 27 recruits at 90.57 average
Clemson is 8, Auburn is 9 - how??

Anyways, my overall point is to those of you who are butthurt that we only landed 3 5 stars this year - this is a great class. It's not Bama great, but it's easily our 2nd best this century.
Consider our 2013 class - ranked 9th in the country with a lower average rating and a TON of character issues.

Yeah all these guys seem to have no off field issues and all qualify academically so this is as close to a home run as we can expect. Now we have to win and we'll be hitting them outta the yard

I agree it is a great class, but MY point was from a recruiting only standpoint there's still teams in our division ahead of us. Can we beat them on the field with filling needs (doing well, but missed on DB/LB and could be in trouble at QB), coaching (I hope), and development (I think so).
On the field results will help recruiting. We have many recruiting advantages, we just haven't put together the sustained records to show that yet.

Honestly to me it is all about recruiting wins vs losses, and it is all relative.
It would have been huge if Texas got Kyler. Like worth two or three five stars huge. Or UCLA getting Snoop Dogg's kid huge.
Meanwhile I never get upset if a player we target goes to Bama. Heck if I was a five star I might go play for the best coach of our generation.
In that light I think we ended pretty good. Mack not going to TCU kept the glass ceiling over their heads. the Big 12 is being drained of talent like never before, which will bottom out the league once the high level of coaching mirage goes away.
In the big picture this all went well for us.

The 2012 and 2013 classes were overrated. Too many grade issues, character issues, and offensive skill position players bound to transfer.
