I'm thinking he's going ASU right now unfortunately

if you want real hilarity...just wait. Was told Tech is probably going to turn in Baylor over this

"Apparently, Matt Copeland, the guy Stidham was living with, is the son of Mike Copeland, the former DC under Briles at Stephenville that took Briles place as head coach when Briles came to Tech."
"So I just got off the phone with some coaches I know in the area (hunting buddies as well) and this whole thing is pretty wild.
From what they know, Copeland is acting as Stidham's handler. Apparently, his mom and people around him don't trust Copeland at all and want him to go out of state to get away from him. Jarrett didn't like this at all and decided to emancipate himself (not in a court of law, but basically the same). He moved out and moves in with Copeland, whom he works for.
Apparently, everyone can see Jarrett's being used except Jarrett himself. He has a "job" with Copeland and it's more of a stand around and bring in business with the, "I'm Jarrett Stidham" routine.
Anyway, from what these coaches have been told, Stidham's handler has convinced him that he will start from day one at whatever school he goes to. Then, with Copeland at his side, he'll play till he's draft eligible, declare and Copeland will represent him (and get a boon to his business using Jarrett's name, blah, blah, blah)... They have all this mapped out, kind of a case of cart before the horse, but whatever...
Things looked good on the starting at Tech front while Webb was playing bad. In comes Mahomes, things don't look so good. Stidham gets an in home and is told he will get the opportunity to start, but ideally he will redshirt (makes sense). Jarrett and Copeland blow up, in home visit over. Apparently, the so cool, never been so pissed in my life comment was directed at this to the meaning "things were so cool, and now I've never been so pissed".
Apparently, Jarrett has a bit of an ego (to be expected) and since moving in with Copeland it's 10x worse and he's been a real pain in the arse. He got called out by his coaches for calling his own number and changing the play to suit him very recently and gave some major attitude when asked about it.
The coaches I know said that this won't end well wherever he ends up (they think Oregon b/c they're "handler friendly"). One said, "you'll sign two people on national signing day, Stidham and Copeland".
Apparently, his recruiting efforts for Tech were sometimes off putting and they think him leaving may get us some recruits we would've originally got if not for him badgering them (their words, not mine). They said he came off very strong with the sales pitch and was even insulting and berated some kids for not jumping on board with him immediately as they'd miss the chance for him to take them to greatness.
Anyway, I trust the guys who told me this stuff and all I can say is this is a weird, weird deal. I had no idea there were any issues with him and thought he'd be here in January..."

Dude, wtf. Even more glad we got Murray instead.

Seems to be the sentiment right now that it's Kirk OR Kirk. Is that how you feel? I think they're both elite and will be two of the more successful ATH from this class. I think CK would give SEC defenders fits with his change of direction. He can go almost 90 deg at full speed. Although KM has the elite speed we've been short on.
Id prefer christian bc I think he takes malcome's spot day 1, but that's just me. Agree that LA is better comp, but Ck has been dominant in elite camp settings for 2 years.

Don't think it's a mutually exclusive thing, but the perception is that A&M has a lot of depth at WR. If Kirk chooses ASU, logic says A&M's chances for Merritt go up. Merritt is more versatile and screams Tavon Austin (plus, we would be Sparq U), but Kirk is a better pure receiver.

CK was top 15 in Sparq at the opening as well.
KM was #1, Malik #2, and Dunning was top 15.

Not sure what to say to that. I feel they should both go to A&M
If you are asking me what they are thinking, I couldn't begin to tell you. I agree with you on positions - I think CK is a Y (Kennedy's spot) and Merritt is an H (where RSJ is playing right now). I think between the two of them and RSJ (who played Y last year) they'd probably get most of the reps inside next year. I'm sure we're being hammered on WR depth but it's misleading. We have 4 starting WRs. Comparing our depth to other teams isn't apples to apples. Hell we've had to use a walk-on extensively in the slot each of the last two years.
CK will keep the chains moving by making the tough catch. Outside of Kennedy, we don't have that now. He's smooth and is already very polished. Just the kind of guy you look for on 3rd down because you know he'll get open and catch it.
Merritt is far more versatile and you could run the jet sweep to him, line him up in the backfield, or create a sick screen game with him and Speedy blocking for one another (and either being very scary with the ball in hands). So I don't think they are competing for the same role.

Why does LSU feel like they're going to flip Mack?
This seems to a question I'd direct at CC. Wait a sec....

Yep, you are correct. Kemah finished in the top 30, too. Okay, Sparq U, let's do it. Sign 'em all.

Is there a reason why our coaches didn't set up in-home visits with Kirk? Auburn and USC both visited in December.

Toby Weathersby just de-committed from Texas
Posted on 12/15/14 at 4:24 pm to Booter11
They lost Jordan Stevenson, Weathersby, and missed on lb Darrin Kirkland (their primary Malik back up), and likely losing ground on lb anthony wheeler to OU.
They really need to get all their staff positions filled or they will just keep losing all their top targets.

Looks like we're getting Bussey on Friday. CBs trending A&M's way.
