I think they are, but the elite coach list is short and a lot of them are going to answer no regardless of money. Taggart being the floor is very nice, IMO.

I do feel really good about Gruden. If he says no I don’t think it will be Tennessee’s fault.

Throw 5.5 Mill at Patterson or Petersen if we don't pull Gruden and call it a day.

Isn't his record deceiving because he took over poor programs like WKU and USF and built them into solid programs.

We blew our chance with Patterson in 2008 and I don't think Petersen would ever consider this job.

Since we've had a couple weeks of the best time to be a UT fan, where is everyone assuming King Jon has spurned us yet again?

Stories of Dan Mullen meeting with Currie Friday and perhaps Frost being targeted as well. Thankfully, it doesn't seem as if Norvell is an option at this point.

What other names have you gents heard might be leading VOLS through the T next year.

Mullen seems to be the commonly reported floor for this search.

Frost still ends up at Nebraska me thinks.

Rumors of Petersen wanting out of the NW are very intriguing, he makes less than Lyle was making so there’s no reason we shouldn’t at least offer him $7m+

We should have went after Petersen first. Offer him everything we are rumored to be offering Gruden. If he wants his team to be in the spotlight then he is going to have to get over the west coast and come to the south.

He has a low buyout and we could easily double his salary. Not to mention all the other perks that come with coaching Tennessee verses Washington. Currie would be retarded to not at least try.

Lmao what a gay earth we live on. VOLS were paying top dollar for Lyle Jones while Chris Peterson's wife is standing in line for government cheese.

I get real RED when I think of how little Lyle knows about football, yet was able to con VOLS out of $4m per annum.

For once I am not exactly aligned with users Robert Goulet and Mountain Damned Values when it comes to Dean Merlins. My biggest fear is Currie does not open up the checkbook for Mullen to upgrade his staff here.

I can frick with Mullen + Steele and some ace recruiters.

Frost is obviously my #1 tho. I want absolutely nothing to do cheese ball Campbell or Norvell.

If not Gruden then we HAVE to throw 6-7 mill at Petersen and make him say no.

I would be ok with Mullen although he is the least excitable hire for me. He is the floor for my interest level in VOLS.

Tennessee would be in the east race most years with Moffen at the helm imo.

I keep seeing Cutcliffe's name getting tossed in the mix. Cringeworthy IMO. As a QB coach? Absolutely. HC? Meh.

The great LWS prediction for head coach? Chris Petersen. Just a guess but I love seeing it.

Cutcliffe is where he needs to be. He's happy at Duke, and he doesn't need to be dealing with the pressures of the SEC at his age and with his heart condition.

That’s shockingly optimistic for him. Surprised he isn’t saying Norvell or Durkin.

I'm telling you guys, Petersen is the best possible hire we could make, including Gruden.

He is the only coach who is worth every penny of the $6-8 Million we are reportedly willing to spend.
