After reviewing the hot board over the course of the weekend, Scott Frost has officially been bumped up to a Tier II candidate while Bobby Petrino has been demoted to Tier III

Why waste all that money.
Hell, if we are not going to go big. Use the money to do another stadium renovation. Get our asses kicked in style.
I'm sure there is some offensive coordinator in the Ohio Valley Conference that would love to make $2 million per year.

Scott Frost would be an outstanding hire imo. The only negative with him is the Nebraska connection

If you can get Fuente, get him
Mullen would be a solid hire
I think Chip is fools gold.

Where do we stand on Greg Schiano? Seems like a solid tier III guy.

His record at Rutgers scares the hell out of me honestly. I have seen his name mentioned quite a bit so I guess he deserves to be on here. Good call, Buster

he did really well for Rutgers. I mean come on man it's Rutgers

His record there (73-68) is a little alarming, but he did lead the Scarlet Knights to their first bowl victory EVER.

No, he was at Rutgers 11 years and went 68-67.
However, In the 11 years before he got there, Rutgers went 37-83.
it also took him a full 4 years to turn around that dumpster fire. He went 56-33 after he got them going.
If you consider that alarming then i dont know what to tell you. It's Rutgers man.

But that was when Rutgers was in the Big East, which was straight up garbage at the time outside of Louisville and West Virginia.
I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but a great coach should've been able to dominate that conference of slaw even at Rutgers imo

Rutgers was one of the worst programs in college football at the time though, at a school that was borderline hostile to the football program succeeding. That's a huge culture change to try to bring about and he did it. He won at Rutgers pretty much as much as you can. And even to this day people don't think of Rutgers the way they did when he got there because of the job he did (though Chris Ash seems to be doing his damndest to revert them back)
Context is important, you can't just look at his wikipedia page and make an assessment.

Schiano did an amazing job at Rutgers. Before he got there, Rutgers hadn't been to a bowl game in like 30 years. It took him 4 seasons to get there, but it's Rutgers.
He took them to bowls in 6 of his last 7 seasons, winning 5 of them. And the only time he missed a bowl is when Eric LeGrand was paralyzed during a game and they lost the next 6 games.
He wouldn't be a home run, but we could certainly do a lot worse.

I really think VOLS should look to the MAC for a coach. Those are some gritty, buzzcut haired coaches in that league.
