supposedly two things are happening right now
1) folks are still at Tyson-McGhee waiting on a plane that Gruden is on
2) The players have been told that it's Gruden

Been quite a while, surprised that plane hasn't landed yet...

It's a diversion. Gruden is actually on a MegaBus and will get to Knoxville in 3 days.

Edit: frick flight trackers, it's time for bus trackers. Currie is next level.

If the players were told almost 3 hours ago we'd know by now.......no way that many young guys could keep it to themselves

THERE'S NO frickING WAY the players were told the night before a game. (Probably because there's nothing to tell).

They wouldn't body Hoke and the other coaches with a distraction of this magnitude. They also aren't going to break the news the day before we're honoring the 97 SEC Championship team.

Guys, nugs like this are ridiculous, think it through.

if this Gruden deal is really in the balance, Curry better be sleeping in a SUV parked outside of Gruden's house like Mal Moore did with Saban, refusing to take no for an answer. Cause assuming Kelly goes to Gators, the overall coaching candidate pool looks weak this year.

"What has been confirmed is he has strong interest and he has been offered a great deal! The ball is totally in his court! Now what he does with it we all do not have any idea till it happens. That’s everything that has been confirmed by my sources! #VFL"

I’m pretty confident Tennessee already has their answer. I don’t think there is anything left to work out. Either he has agreed and we’re just waiting, or he really has said no and we fans just can’t let it go.

RE: The 70 million for 7 years plus ridiculous incentives and staff budget.

Lets assume that is true...

Would anyone else be annoyed at Tennessee offering Gruden that much over a guy like Petersen? I get the love for Gruden, I have it too. But bring in Petersen with basically an open check book for his staff is so much safer than Gruden. It would almost guarantee Tennessee becoming a perennial playoff caliber team.

Yes and no, i saw a stipulation of that being there is no buyout which I think makes it an easier pill to swallow. Because with no buyout we’re saying it’s only worth it if we win and if we don’t then no harm no foul. But i also think that the amount being speculated includes all incentives so it’s more of a potential salary that only gets maxed out with a Natl Championship. But i also just woke up and hungover so i could’ve completely missed the mark.

I'm all in if he lands here, but we better be offering other big time coaches the same deal.

If Gruden turns us down, no crawling into a hole with fricking Mike Norvell.

Idk how the frick he's managed to do it but Currie has actually managed to build my confidence in him to the point where I'm not too concerned about this

It's just night and day how he's handled this search vs the last 2 frick boys did.

Anyways now that I've said I'll be wrong as shite and we ll hire Houston Nutt

If Currie lands Gruden, it cements that Hart is worse than Hamilton.

Also, it appears Currie at Tennessee is different than Currie at Kansas State.

My only hang up with this is that I really do think that if Jon is a hard “NO” then I really do think he would have confirmed as such through some media outlet

He appears to be a stone cold ninja assassin. Did you see how he just fricking disappeared for an entire 24 hours after he landed in Chicago?

He fricking vanished, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE with the technology we have now and like 10,000 Vol fans and media tracking his every move right now? That's irl NINJA shite.

But I'll reserve final judgement until the new coach is official.
