Continued Participation (Personal Foul): If a player who is not the ball carrier loses their helmet, the ball remains alive, but that player must stop participating immediately (beyond the immediate continuing action). Prolonged participation results in a 15-yard personal foul

It probably should’ve been a 15 yard penalty against Alabama for ripping the helmet off of state player. The ref probably missed until they went back and looked at the tape.

It happened in the middle of the tackle. Not much of a way to stop playing in that situation.
