Beauty contests aren’t hard when there’s a hand full of supermodels and a bunch of sixes. They don’t work any more. Now we need divisions, wildcards, and a clear path to the post season.

Frick no they don’t work. Anyone in FBS can literally beat anyone. I think that causes discomfort for fans because you have no weekend where you’re like ah we got this.

It's better for the sport. I rather have parity it makes all the games much more exciting to watch.

I’ve laid out a path forward more than once. This is the way to not only save college football, but make it better than ever.

1. The Power Four conferences all expand to 20 teams.

2. Each conference is split into 4 divisions.

3. The winner of each division (based on regular season results) each advance to the conference playoffs. So, four conferences of four divisions each means the 16 division champs.

4. The first round of the CFP is the division champs playing to see which two teams advance to the conference championship game. Yes, this model preserves conference championship games and makes them hugely important.

5. The two remaining division champs of each conference meet to decide that conference’s champion. This is the second round of the CFP. The winner of those games advance to the CFP “Final Four.”

6. The four conference champions meet in the third round of the CFP to decide which two teams advance to the CFP Championship game.

As for the Group of Six, they hold their own playoff. This will give those programs a real shot at winning their own national championship instead of being offered up as a sacrificial lamb.

This is the way.
