I say a MINIMUM of 1 week unpaid suspension and no detail at any P4 football game ever.

Reasonable.

But don't fire him.

People will be calling for that.

Why? Is he one of the good ones? Just made a mistake?

I'm just arguing that ruining a man's life because he was a dick in an emotional moment, briefly, does not qualify for firing him.

What would be the grounds for firing him?

He shouldn’t be emotional on the job. He affects people’s lives.

He can keep his job but lose all game day assignments forever

A man who cannot control himself in a situation like that has no business wearing a gun for a living.

I imagine this dude does not have the temperament to handle situations of being a State Trooper. He needs to be reassigned for desk detail.

Well if cops can freely do what they'd arrest people for then we're their subjects rather than them being our servants.

I dont expect alot of support on this bootlicker board but thats not exactly the kinda cop I want pulling my family over. Seems like he can't keep his emotions in check.

That’s not a punishment. He can easily make it up with overtime. Eliminate his overtime for a year as a punishment.

It's guaranteed that the moron is a dick and acts like that toward everyone he comes into contact with (but only while he's hiding behind that badge, of course). He's unprofessional, lacks the temperament for the job, and has now embarrassed his department and fellow officers.

Being mad at a kid for being happy he scored in a game is so immature of the trooper

Definitely needs discipline and training

At my age, he would have to be in my bedroom pulling me out of bed.

He is probably the new darling of Texas defense attorneys specializing in traffic cases with questionable LEO behavior which will not bode well for highway safety.
