If Lane goes 11-1 and makes the playoff, why would he leave Ole Miss?

Seems the argument has been “it’s easier to win at Florida or LSU.”
His one playoff appearance at Ole Miss will match the combined playoff appearances of Florida and LSU.

What do you mean "if"? Any 11-1 SEC team will make the playoffs.

I think Lane should and will stay, but to answer the question……Does anyone really think this Ole Miss team is going to win the CFP? If making the playoff is the goal, then sure, things are rosy. If winning the whole thing is the goal, then maybe you look for a higher ceiling. If LK perceives that UF offers a better chance at a ring, he might go.

I think they could win it all with the right playoff draw and a little luck.

Exactly, which is why I said if

You never know. You certainly can’t win it if you don’t get a spot in it.

You read his statement wrong, try again. If there was a comma after 11-1 then you would be correct, but his statement does not bring in to question of making the playoff with an 11-1 record. Don't read it with a pause after 11-1.

It's the $15m question. Hard to leave Ole Miss because you think you "can't get it done" here while in the middle of absolutely getting it done.
Mind you, this was supposed to be a rebuild year for Ole Miss.

It IS easier to win a national championship at Florida and LSU.
There's a reason that only a handful of teams have won a natty in the last 20 years, all from this group:
Auburn
Florida
Florida State
Texas
Alabama
Clemson
Georgia
Ohio State
Michigan
LSU
Are we calling Ole Miss a sports program that's on the same level as any of these teams?

Over the last ten years? Minus the Burrow year, yes.

You act as if we are dealing with normal person. There is something wrong with Lane Kiffin. He is a certified psycho.

This was technically was suppose to be a “down” year and we’re 10-1. Imagine that last years roster winning those should win games. Hell I think OM was a semifinal worthy team last year if got in of course. Might’ve won the damn thing. Everyone has to get over that hump eventually.

Because he’s not going to draw an easy schedule every year and eventually the down teams like Florida, LSU, Auburn will correct their problems and he doesn’t want to be stuck at a program that has been a cellar dweller for most of our lifetimes

5 of those teams are struggling to get bowl eligible or won’t, btw.

If he wants more resources then he should leave. If he wants a no pressure chance at the playoffs then he should stay.
Its a bad year in the sec as far as the top isn't dominated by anyone that unbeatable. That combined with him losing big games then he would be under pressure year 2 or 3 anywhere else.
He looks better sitting at OM than falling out somewhere big again.

Any team can win the whole thing as long as they get into the playoff and get hot at the right time.

Because he’ll lose in the playoffs ..
UF has no HC / Interim is a career WR coach
Riddled with injuries at WR / DL
QB can’t throw
OL is meh
First time OC / playcaller
Still the talent on the UF roster overcame all that and they made it a game when it should’ve been a blowout by a playoff bound team at home at night.
They aren’t the team they think they are and apparently this is LKs best team he’s had
