I honestly can’t recall a college football Saturday that I’ve seen more upsets

Is there more parity in college football than ever before?

2007 comes to mind. Chaos at the end of the year with two-loss LSU sneaking into BCS championship game.

But people keep telling me that college football has been ruined…

1998, and at the very end of the season. That was the last time it was this crazy for a single weekend.

We were some decent officiating (I know…I know) away from 1, 3, 7 not only losing, but losing to unranked teams with pretty big spreads.

Texas became just the ninth team since the poll expanded to 25 in 1989 to lose back-to-back games as a top-10 team against unranked opponents.

That was at the end of the season too. It took a perfect storm for LSU to get in and once in they kicked arse.

Upsets don't mean much when all the schools still make it into the playoffs. Georgia, Notre Dame, and Indiana will all be there. Alabama and Texas are still in the hunt even with 2 losses.

Arkansas had a major hand in both 1998 and 2007 mentioned here
If the trend continues, what do we do next? Knock LSU and/or Texas out of playoff contention by handing them a third loss?
