And take Mateer with. He played better with broken thumb.
fricking stupid arse playcalling. First half we run 7 or 8 on 1st down. Then Assbuckle calls 2 pass plays and we punt. Did this all first half.
We avg more yards rushing than passing first half. But noooo, let’s fricking pass and punt instead. Assbuckle trying to make his boy look good instead of winning game.

It is as hard to get a win at Ann Arbor as it is to get a win at Norman. You lost a close one but there is a lot of season left for Oklahoma.

Had we kept running it changes the game. You gain oline confidence and force them to stack box. That opens passes. You wear down defense. Look at first series. Why would you stop feeding Avant?

I am not making excuses for OU, but they are missing their LT and another interior OL. The thing is, I am not sure if they are coming back anytime soon.

OU coaching staff and players spent time on LSU and Lane the past week? Where did you come up with this info?

True but does not excuse playcalling to help slow game down and burn clock (running). Which helps your oline and reduces plays in game. When we ran Avant on first half he was great. But we never repeated that success for some strange reason.
It seemed to me Assbuckle wanted to try and get Mateer some awards on national TV vs doing what works. If a RB runs 8 yards why would you never use him again that series? Instead you decide to throw with a shaky oline on road in front of 112k fans. Stupidity at its finest
First half stats. We would run Avant on first down for big yards and then not see him again in series. On top pf that XR is a bad blocker and he was in way too many snaps even if not running.

I picked OU to win and thought it was a safe pick. Your performance today was less than your talent level. OU should have won. Your season will be much better than you think.

The Michigan D made better adjustments at halftime. The OU offense didn't.
