He's done extremely well at Houston.
20 TDs vs 2 INTs and 6 TDs rushing

He's quietly been one of the best QBs in CFB this season

Aggies haven't been able to figure out the QB position post-Manziel...seems like every one of them regresses after a decent first year...

Chess move by LSU to let Reed come in and beat us a couple of years ago

It's one of their newer traditions. Letting capable QBs leave, only to thrive at their new schools.

Weigman at UH, Haynes King at GT, Kylar Murray at OU, Kyle Allen at UH.

King, Murray, and Allen are all on NFL rosters now. Wegmans will be too.

And we have Reed.

Makes me wonder if the competition level in the Big 12 is different.

Hmm… I think so. It’s only been proven 1,000 times before.

But seriously. At first, we gave the reigns to Weigman. He then showed up as the starter fat and out of shape and played horribly.

Sometimes fresh scenery really is the answer .

The competition level was lower elsewhere for all our other highly regarded QBs who transferred out, and theyre mostly on NFL rosters now. Murray is a long term NFL starter.

Meanwhile A&M kept Max Johnson, Keller Mond, and now Marcel Reed as our QB instead of those guys.

Hmmm....

While 100% true, the offensive system plays a huge role as well.

IMO Arch & Reed would both be better quarterbacks in different systems.. one that uses their legs and doesn’t require much thought process.

Arch running the Tebow/Ehlinger offense (Herman worked as OC under Urban)

Reed running the wishbone similar to Holloway at OU or the Kyler spread offense

Both Wiggins and Sark are running a pro style offense that requires a quarterback with a high IQ, and quick decision making.. not surprising, considering Wiggins worked for Sark at Alabama.

Bottom line is they have the wrong quarterback.

He was part of the number 1 recruiting class of all time at A&M. You didn't know how but you knew it would get aggy'd up somehow and nothing of significance would be won.
