They were gonna be the best class in the history of recruiting in 2014
That was based off of trends
LSU has loaded up on home state talent the past decade, and had one of it's richest years in talent. shite happens.

Trey thinks Alabama has the best player in the country, when in fact, he's not even the best at his own position
Oh man!!! OHHHH MAN!!!! YOU TOTALLY OWNED HIM.

Your basing your hunch on an assumption nothing more. The fact is aTm went backwards in year 2 when Mizzou went forward. You have a lot to replace. You are assuming these HS recruits will come in and change your defense to something that can compete with other SEC teams. And even if those said recruits pan out you are assuming you the have the staff to make them into a great defense.
It really is not that hard to understand, as long as you realize your thinking is based off of assumptions and nothing more.
Again my point is that to hold onto a stellar you have to back up what you are selling and when aTm produces another lack luster season like the past and maybe even worse I doubt the class will end up the way you are hoping.
Just a hunch

True. Does every fan base not assume their highly ranked recruits will be sufficient to compete with the SEC?

True. Does every fan base not assume their staff can coach up kids who pan out?

True. Can you explain why this series of assumptions is exclusive to TAMU?

So if we had a conversation last year, you know the year mizzou went 5-7, you would have said they took a major step backward and will never be able to compete. Yet they win the East the very next year (same coaching staff).
In our first year in the SEC our defense was very respectable, I know everyone only remembers last season but when Snyder had talent he put a pretty good product on the field.

If we get Jefferson and Sheffield that's two more five stars, and then Kyler Murray, who should definitely be a 5 star(but won't be because of height), we've solidified a soooolid class right there. I wouldn't really give a damn beyond that point.

I haven't even considered that new Aggie pipeline Speedy Noil opened up. Do they have anyone good in 2015 we are looking at?

I don't know about projecting an overall ranking out that far, but UGA's in position to have a sick 2015 class

Yeah all we got is the #1 RB and overall, #1 OLB, #2 Dual Threat QB, #2 and #4 safety, #3 DT, statistically the best high school WR ever, and probably going to add the #1 WR possibly and possibly the #2 CB.
Oh yeah, ours also has a prodigy while yours does not :)
