So does he play DE, and slide in on certain packages, like Dareus from '09 and Jesse Williams last year.

In an interview after Saban and Sunseri spent 2-1/2 hours at his home, his father said that Saban spent some time explaining how they would use him for both much as they did with Dareus.

Selling "Dareus Duty" seems like the obvious play for this guy. It would be hard not to say no to following in his footsteps.

Brandon Deaderick playing starting for the Patriots helps too.

Absolutely. I mean he's listed at 6-5, 300 lbs. Kinda tall, but he can play DE in the 3-4. Teams will pay a lot for an athletic guy who can fit that position. Just look at Tyson Jackson

Yup DE in the 3 man front and slide to the inside in 4 man front and he has talent to do both fairly well.
The signing of A.Taylor was huge for this class since it is the 1st true NG Bama has signed since Cody, and his potential as a NG is tremendous. Also as I posted before it helps a great deal in landing Goldman since it quelled any worry he had about being moved to NG, it gives EG another player in this class he can rely on as a a space eater.
This class is furiously coming together

Darren Lake isn't exactly small. Though he may slim down in Alabama's strength and conditioning program, he will arrive next summer at 6-3 330. He's a pretty typical NG. Terrence Cody was 6-5. He's not your typical NG. However, he played low for his height.

I don't think Cody was a legit 6'5". I stood next to him once and he was maybe an inch taller than my 6'2"

Each NFL roster reflects the combine heights that the players were measured at. According to the Baltimore Ravens website, Cody is listed a 6-4.

A buddy of mine that has one of the subscription services* texted me last night that Goldman had named his final 2: FSU & Auburn. WTF? Any truth to that?
*May be Rivals, so realize his info may be worthless

Ihave also stood next to Cody and I'm 6-5. He is no taller than 6-3, and that's being generous.

I haven't seen this, FWIW...
ETA: I stand corrected, but I still don't believe him

*** Friendship Collegiate Academy (Washington, D.C.) five-star defensive tackle Eddie Goldman is the sixth Rivals100 prospect that Auburn is, at the least, in the top two for. Goldman took an official visit to Auburn for the Iron Bowl and left very high on the Tigers. Florida State is believed to be the team to beat, but Auburn is continuing to make a move and is the Seminoles’ biggest threat at this time.

It was in his War Room, and I quoted it above. Take it with a grain of salt. I don't believe that at all.

Not all recruits care about what they see on the field.
