Idk but my USCe friend has quit following recruiting and claims to not like college sports much anymore.
Way to go Muschump you sent him over the edge.
I am surprise Arkansas fans were not like this South carolina fan in the last couple of years!

DBU/NFLU/National Champs or South Carolina
There is alittle bit more of an incentive going to LSU
Or he could've gone to Clemson!

Let’s see if the guys he gets at Oregon can catch the goddamn ball this time around. For every Deebo or Bryan Edwards we have Josh Vann, Nick Muse, Mullins, Xavier Leggette, etc etc
Good news is South Carolina did beat Georgia last year and it probably saved Muschamp from getting fired. Now see if Muschamp can go for two in two to beat Georgia.

I guess this is fair if your biggest indicator for recruiting ability is solely ratings.
Not the point right now. I understand Muschamp got to get the offense going and start winning again and beat some good teams and make bowl games. I am guessing there is a good HC out there that want to take over a team that can be a good team. I was disappointed with Odom and he did beat South carolina but went 6-6. He is not a good recruiter and a good HC. Got someone that is looking good so far. He might be what Mizzou needs to get back to winning the SEC east division again soon.

South Carolina is surrounded by top notch recruiters. You have Dabo in state, Mack across one boarder, and Kirby across the other. That makes things really tough when you haven't had a whole lot of recent success on the field.
This was A&M's issue in the early 00s.
We had Mack (05) down the road, Stoops (00) up north, and Saban (03) next door.
Add it we fell way behind in the arms race and it all went to shite for a while.
U of SC needs to make a hell of hire next time around and start injecting some major funds into the program.

Mizzou was getting locked out to in-State recruits and ESL. Now the tide is turning after some cleaned up. Odom gone and now things are looking great. South Carolina need to do something similar to get back to getting respected by the State and recruits and then other States.

This is the type of class that sets a program back several years. Champ is a dead man walking.

This is another issue. Our Board of Trustees is comprised of too many folks who are only interested in personal gain and perception, not the success of SC athletics.
We'll never make the required investment to achieve long-term success in football with our current BOT - it's simply too political and frankly, they don't give a shite.
It's the reason Ray Tanner still has a job and is allowed to shove us further down the toilet.

As long as they can rub elbows with the states elite, pull in a fat mid six figure paycheck and have a house on the lake they don’t give a shite. As far as they’re concerned we are a women’s basketball school now.

I like how you disregarded all the facts I presented to dispute your very debatable claim. Makes sense I guess.
NFLU
I thought I had an appropriate response to the OP since he asked why our class is subpar. They're not excuses if you can't do any better than the person you're supposedly "excusing"
Peter167
I'm still holding onto a little faith that we'll flip him. He's got some HS teammates in Columbia and would probably get more PT here than UF.

Man, you posted about an LSU signee that had South Carolina nowhere on his radar in a thread about South Carolina recruiting. You are the only person who doesn't recognize your unhealthy LSU obsession.

South Carolina really fumbled to take a next step after Spurrier IMO. They had so much momentum in the early 10’s and it fizzled out under Spurrier and Muschamp just isn’t a good coach.
I love what Spurrier did here and will always be grateful but he has basically owned and admitted that the collapse was as much as his fault as the rise (there's a good article on it in The Athletic from this past Feb.)
He always had a reputation for not being the most active recruiter personally but he was done and ready to retire at the end of 2014. However, he was convinced to stay because people were appealing to his ego that he could be the first coach to get to 100 Ws here. Well, that led to the awful 2015 season that saw him quit mid-season.
Part of why that season was so awful were allegedly because of his lackadaisical efforts in recruiting and making the effort to find coaches that could do it. What really laid the cupboard bear was in late 2014 he admitted that he only had "2-3 more years left." That year's class was actually looking pretty solid but as soon as those words came out of his mouth there was a wave of de-commitments. It got so bad that Spurrier tried to later retract the comments and say he was back on the "4-5 year plan," but the damage was done.

I didn't post a thing about Bama in here, yet you two can't seem to get me out of your minds. It's getting creepy.

I would agree with that. His heart wasn't in it anymore the last season or two.
