True, but coaches should be held to a higher standard than high school kids. The fact is that this is a business. I don't really agree with it, but as a fan want the best product on the field so it is kindve a catch 22. I just hope these kids get in school and get an education.

I hope Butch continues doing stuff like this. Hard to go in there and preach that your going to be a great role model and kids should come to your school when the second you think you can land a better player comes you will drop that player. I have no issue with what he's doing because recruits can do the exact same thing to the school but at the same time it looks bad.

I think we can all agree that Butch is a good guy who thinks about the big picture rather than the short-term.

It is bad form, no doubt.

What does UTK mean? Knoxville? You really need the "k"?

I don't blame him for putting it out there
I'm surprised more of them don't

As much as it is a shitty thing for the school to do, it goes both ways. Whenever a recruit lies to one school and then commits to another on signing day.
True, but you're comparing a University to a 18 year old kid. The mentor to the student. They're not equal.

Plus Memphis is a terrible place.

Don't confuse Memphis and West Tennessee. West Tennessee was Al Wilson, Trey Teague, Chad Clifton, Ramon Foster, etc. Memphis is it's on world. Kids down there know hardly nothing of East Tennnessee. The inner city produces great athletes but the coaching sucks. Cedrick Wilson was the last good player we had from a Memphis inner city school. While MUS isn't an inner city school it,s Ole Miss stomping grounds.

He was offered a blue shirt. He didn't like it, so he decommitted.

Dan Williams?
There are plenty other examples. He's just the last one that went in the first round.

And Daniel Brooks RIP (who Fulmer went hard after) and Patrick Willis (who he didn't) sigh

Daniel Brooks RIP
Saw him the day before he passed away. Standing in line for a port-a-potty and his son and daughter looked like she was having a rough time holding it so I let them go in front of me. I didn't know who he was but figured he was a former player because of his shirt. When I saw his picture in the news the next morning I was floored. RIP

At least Butch gave the kid enough time to sort out options and go on visits if necessary.

You just made a logical statement, and this board is gonna crucify you for it.
