Would it be "objective" to completely ignore something so obvious?

I think we need to brush up on what objectivity actually means.

I take that quote with a grain of salt.

I was actually surprised the Dad didn't go up on the stage. If he was so sold on Bama as you bama posters have been saying, I would have thought he would have loved to be up there for that, but I don't know him personally. With the mom being right there, its almost as if he switched at the last moment. *not saying this is what happened, it just looks like that from a distance*

Regardless, hell of a snag Bama

Maybe objective isn't the right word, but the original point was pretty clear that she wasn't leaning over asking to make a comment or wanting camera time.

I don't mean to assume anything. And don't really wanna post this. But if I had to guess how it went down I'd say he's known for a long time where he has wanted to go. He's been planning on going somewhere with his girlfriend and he/they chose Alabama. Either way he's getting the frick out and with the his mother acted I don't blame him.

He is chasing tail. If she went to Florida he would follow. Poor kid.

But...then you did

Again, you can make the mom out to be the bitch all you want but the "pro Alabama" dad wasn't even up there. That should tell you it wasn't as simple as you believe....at least as far as his communication with his family is concerned.

I don't doubt that she was involved. I just think THEY chose where to go. Alabama is a good school for her and I heard they play a little football too

This is what happens when young, ignorant folks have kids. LC's mama should be ashamed of herself!! I don't believe the rest of LC's family feels like his mom at all judging from their reactions (body language). The rest of the family was visibly embarrassed. I salute the family member that hugged LC because he is a child and he deserves support not someone acting out on national TV.

Exactly. This is gonna sound stupid, but his mother neglected him. That moment should be the happiest of his life. And it looked like it was, in spite of what his mom did.

I didn't say anyone had to give a shite what his parents wanted. I said you don't know what all happened behind the scenes that could have caused the mom's reaction and the dad to not even go up there. Sure, he made a decision...that much is pretty obvious since he just announced the decision. But you don't know what else went on, what the parents were told, etc.

You're right. I must be lucky though because my mom would NEVER do ANYTHING like that. It really rubbed me the wrong way.

After watching that video and knowing LC lives with his dad and stepmom, I think it's obvious what's at play here. The biological mom is jealous of LC's relationship with his dad and stepmom and tries to undermine how they are raising LC. I think LC's dad knew the biological mom was up to no good and that's why he didn't come on the stage.

Yes. They weren't there to report on her opinion of his decision. They were there to report his decision. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if her opinion was sought, it would not be favorable. They were going for shock value and attempting to create a story instead of reporting one. His announcement is what mattered, not his mother's opinion of it. That is between him and her, not between them and the public.

It rubbed you the wrong way because he picked Alabama. But even beside that I can see where you're coming from, I'm not even questioning it. Parents should be there for support.

All I'm saying is it's a two way street. My mom would never do that to me either, but there are also several things I wouldn't do to her, situations I wouldn't put her in, etc....and I bet you would say the same. My point is you don't know for sure how it all played out, and that the way he went about it with his family (not the media, fans, coaches) could have caused the reaction just as much or more than the actual decision did.

It isn't that far fetched if you step back and think about it.

Think about how much momma hates the gf I really think they are almost "running away" from everything at home. They are young and probably a little immature and have a wonderful vision of doing their own thing.

To add to that, most of the time it doesn't work out.
