If A&M doesn't understand that Wheaton, Blackshire and Roberts are a big deal, that's why they are A&M. My guess is that Jimbo and company do understand and are trying to rectify those misses. Anyone who judges a HS kid based on one game is clueless; especially a relatively new HS vs a traditional power. I'm sure Jimbo is smarter than that. Sark wants him - that's enough.

We have had LJ Johnson as our #1 running back for over 18 months and have better interior guys committed like bryce foster and just didn't have a heavy need for linebackers this year which led to us not really recruiting blackshire

Most of these guys will get physically fit and much stronger while competing for a future chance, that once earned propels them into the best position of their life.
It's got to be exciting for the recruit and his entire family.
It makes some of our yearly competitors sincerely give us a pat on the back and other challengers, "shake All Over" with excitement.

Wheaton is great, but A&M never had a shot with him. Same goes for the Brockermeyer kids

The best thing about a&m joining the SEC is it opened the door for Saban to raid the state. I said it when it happened it would be great for UA for recruiting and even possibly hurt LSU who prior to that seemed to be the only SEC school to pull top recruits from TX.
Once the TV market in the state was showing regular SEC games thanks to a&m that is all Saban needed. Saban 6 classes prior to them joining included a total of 2 4 stars, 4 3 stars, and 1 0 star. Those classes also took place during 3 NCs for UA. Since a&m joining Saban has landed 6 5 stars and 18 4 stars.
So thank you a&m for joining the SEC

the point isnt that LJ is ranked higher than wheaton. its that if the idea that LJ might possibly be higher on one staffs board is so objectively laughable, than why does the largest recruit evaluation site think the same?
wheaton is ranked higher. its fine to think wheaton is better. our staff thinks LJ is and he has been our number option for 18 months

I know you posted the composite but that doesn’t go against anything I said. 247 has LJ, Rivals, ESPN have Wheaton. Both are good. I think it’s easy to argue for either to be better. I don’t think either are elite. This years crop is down IMO.
