Dormady doesn't seem like a commit that would blow up twitter all night.

Agree, it has to be TG based on Erik Ainge's tweets.

Are you talking about Tennessee? We last beat them in 2006, that's not close to 20 something years

It really seems like the commit will be Dormady but the confusing part is a lot of the Vol commits are tweeting about how hyped we're gonna be over this.

Don't get me wrong, I like Dormady but him committing isn't gonna bring down the house like TG will.

Why strange? I'm sure he is having fun and you never send a 5* packing if he wants to stay.

He's just driving up the price on Auburn. Pretty smart move, honestly.

Well the chances of Gibson signing with UT now is slim and none. It's just gotta be strange because Butch has been hammering away to TG that he's his #1 guy at QB in this class yet he takes another commitment from another highly ranked QB while TG is on a visit.

I would still love to have him but he was trending Auburn before this weekend anyways.

You have to wonder, maybe that's why Butch Jones went ahead and accepted this commitment...or why he decided to verbally commit...or both, shite, I don't know.

Congrats on TG, Aubbies

I think Dormady will be a really good QB for us. Sounds like he was ready to commit and shut down his recruitment, which is what CBJ is said to have wanted. I honestly believe UT took the QB that wanted to commit first, and would have done the same for Gibson or Francois.

Either way, AU is a better fit for Gibson.

I think a big part of it is that Gibson seems hell bent on waiting a while before making a decision. Auburn's depth chart is in much better shape than ours plus you've already got Queen in the fold so you've got that luxury to wait. In 2015, we will basically have Dobbs and Peterman. That's it. So I think it's imperative that we get a QB locked in early (Dormady is an EE also) since we didn't take one last year and Ferguson transferred.

Basically, AU can play the wait and see game with TG while UT couldn't. I'm sure we will still recruit him but at least we aren't in a position to get burned late in the game and come up empty handed again.

I've been saying this for the last month. Auburn is probably the best landing spot for him due to the lack of pressure to impact early. UTk is going to need a guy in the next year or two to play at a high level for them to compete, Auburn might have one of the best quarterback situations in the country right now allowing us to take a risk on a high ceiling player like Gibson. If he doesn't work out at quarterback, Malzahn can get him on the field somewhere else.

Gibson said after his last visit to Auburn he may move is his announcement up if needed. Kai Locksley and Deondre Francois are committing in a month or so. DF is expected to pick FSU and KL's top 2 are FSU and Auburn. So if he wants a QB spot at Auburn he'll likely have to commit before KL does.

Kind of similar to how I feel about TG with OSU. I don't know realistically if we are even in the sweepstakes anymore (he still hasn't visited 1 time), If he comes to OSU, great he has a little bit of time to adjust and figure out what he is going to do, and where he realistically fits into the QB battle.

I don't know Auburn's QB situation, but OSU will have a RS Jr. who is ok, and a RS So. who was a top DT Qb in the 2013 class, along with the Georgia kid from last year and the newest commit for this year. Gibson is a cherry on top for OSU if he decides to come north, and a great one at that
