Cool. Sounds like you shouldn’t be upset about this at all then

It’s great watching OM argue that they just signed the second coming of LT and Tenner arguing he’s a bum.

I’m actually not to be honest with ya. Actually relived actually. He done this last 2 years and staff is tired if it. And they didn’t match his NIL request. Wish him the best.

He’s better against the run for sure. His pass rushing fell off against better competition.

You know what. It actually doesn’t look like you’re upset and you actually are relieved.

Yep. Totally relieved.

5 sacks first 6 games- Virginia, Austin Peay, UF, USCjr, aTm
1 sack last 6 games- Bama, UGA, Mizzou, UK, UConn, Vandy.
Joseph, West, and Ross all can replace Baron production.
Wish him the best, but we not gonna miss him on defense. Pearce is our best player on defense.

We don’t have to worry about the Diva like attitude anymore. He don’t hustle on every play in practice and it caused him and Rodney Garner to stay into at practice.
Since NIL he has threatened to enter the protal or actually did and then withdrew once got more money. This year the staff wasn’t bending and didn’t care if he left. He wanted a better NIL deal and he wasn’t going to get it. While he is a good player, he is not great or a game changer. He wasn’t even our Top 3 players on defense last year.

Yeah but how many sacks did he have through the first 6 games?

Hey….hes not upset at all and totally relieved. That’s why he’s so feverishly trying to talk the kid down.

It is clear as day in the post you responded to. The 1st 6 games UT played 2 bowl eligible team.
USCjr- 5-7
aTm- 7-5
UTSA- 8-4
UF- 5-7
Virginia- 3-9
Austin Peay- FCS
If you’re playing these caliber teams all season, then he will dominate. But let’s take a look at Ole Miss 24 schedule.
Week1- Furman
Week2- MTSU
Week3- Wake Forest
Week4- Georgia Southern
Week5- Kentucky
Week6- USCjr
Week7- LSU
Week8- Bye
Week9- Oklahoma
Week10- Arkansas
Week11- UGA
Week12- Bye
Week13- UF
Week14- Miss State
You can expect similar results the first 6 games last year. But the 2nd half of the season he will fall off and not do anything last 6 games. Congrats on overpaying for good player.

Ok but break down the stats for those games.

I wouldn't say he has a "Diva-like attitude" at all. He isn't the hardest worker in the building, but not a slouch either.
He is a guy I'd rather have that not, but I'm not really upset about leaving either if he wouldn't take whatever we offered him. Depth piece you need in the SEC, but excited about the JUCO guy we just landed and the young guys getting more reps.
Should be an okay starter or really good depth piece for the Rebs.

And we need experience and depth on defense.

He will be a good player for them no doubt probably 5-6 sacks and several qb pressures. McDonald is a much bigger question mark, UT’s secondary is and was atrocious. He was out of position quite frequently and had a lot of tackles due to teams knowing they could pass on UT’s secondary. They made Brady Cook, Richardson, Rattler, and virtually every other SEC qb look unstoppable. Was that due to poor development, poor scheme, or poor play by defensive backs? I am guessing Willie Martinez has something to do with it but he also gets a lot of the blame

That gives us 2 SEC experienced DE's to help our pass rush that was non existent last year. Ivey was a good DE but not a pass rush end. Baron will make PU better and PU will make Baron better. Pretty excited about it.

Yeah I am not really upset about McDonald at all. My feeling there is we can have a young guy come in and make the mistakes he made and at least they will be teaching moments for the guy and not a supposedly veteran player doing it.

I don't think either is a guy a good team will double with any regularity, but if so its Princely which would benefit Baron. But Baron had Pearce across from him this year and results were still mixed, so who knows.

I think we would've matched a reasonable offer but I don't think they made a reasonable offer.
