According to whom?

Blair Angulo, 247's West Coast guy, and multiple Texas reporters who've talked to him recently (Inside Texas, Horns 247) say that Texas leads right now.
The Ohio State part is my opinion; I don't see UCLA, the other team that's been mentioned a lot, winning a big battle at this point against Texas/Ohio State until proven otherwise
Then Texas goes after McClellan and Evans as the 2nd RB, and if they're unable to land one of those two, or if they miss on Bijan, they're top RB2 targets are Ty Jordan, Tahj Brooks, and Jo'q Marks

Dont see Texas getting 2 top notch kids, Herman isnt really running an attractive offense for RBs

Who is McMillan?
Georgia currently leads for Milton, although LSU has an OV in about a month. I disagree about Ohio State leading; I think you're reading too much into Milton wanting to be the every down back, and I think OSU is probably running 3rd or 4th
Jalen McMillan
Top 50 WR from Frenso.
Supposedly both were heading to Oklahoma.
No one has an idea about Milton because he says one thing and does another.
I wouldn't say Georgia is leading.

All these great running backs and Oregon is all in on an 85 composite from Mississippi (Trey Benson). RB recruiting under Cristobal is my only criticism. There is a lot of talent to go around.

It matters your talent pool.
I think 5 star RBs are the worst investments in terms of time for a coaching staff.
Would rather get some 5 star OL and a 3 star RB than a 5 star RB and a 3 star OL.
Some of these low 4 star players have the same skill sets.
Look at the top two RBs in the NC
Etienne
Josh Jacobs.
Jacobs ran a 4.4 out of high school. Don't know how he was missed.

Mastro is our running back coach and coached at Nevada and Washington State. He was one of the better coaches at developing talent. So, maybe they’re focusing less there and letting Mastro do his work that way.

UGA has the five star linemen, they are getting the five star backs
Such an easy sell after Gurley/Marshall Michel/Chubb and dswift leaving after this year
Milton/Lloyd lock it up

He ran the offense for Zeke and Hyde at OSU. Not totally his offense maybe but he can use that in recruiting probably to pretty good success

Got ya. I just read yesterday that Texas possibly leads, but that it wasn’t a certainty.
Evans is obviously the star of this RB class. If you end up with him, it doesn’t really matter if you get anyone else. Especially with Keontay and Whittington already there.

Based on this thread, a lot of teams feel good about where they are with like 4 kids, so no one really knows yet. Milton and Robinson haven’t done visits yet and seem to actually be pretty torn as of now

Georgia is an easy sell. However, there are a lot of other high level rb in this class and Cristobal isn’t recruiting them.

It is the 2 years separation.
Whittington is more of a future HBack/APB
Ingram will be a Junior.
So you bring in 2 in 2020 and then 2 in 2022
If Texas doesn't bring in 2 they may bring 1 in 2020 and then go for Camar Wheaton.
But the 2022 RB class in Texas is at a real elite level.

Texas isn't taking just one 2020 RB; there's a reason why they're keeping so many RB2s warm
Posted on 5/19/19 at 4:41 pm to Tehol Hornddict
But who is the #2 will determine how they go about 2021.
I haven't watched all the videos so I couldn't tell you who the best is for sure.
I like Jase McClellan's blend of speed and power.
Zach Evans is shifty and knows how to change speeds.
Texas can and wants to land 2 elite backs.
I think if they fail they could put more effort in 2021
Best case scenario would be land 2 elite backs in 2020 and have two+ years to recruit the elite in 2022

Texas has no need for two RB's. Most of the carries go to the QB anyway in that offense
Posted on 5/19/19 at 4:56 pm to ColoradoAg
That is a good thing because it keeps miles off the tires.
When you are an elite RB you are elite. Getting 300-400 carries isn't changing how teams view you.
Texas gave both their RBs 10-15 carries a game.
Those are perfect numbers.
Means about 200-250 a year for three years
You go to the NFL with only 600-750 on your body

Yeah UGA has got plenty to sell with their RB tandems and selling low mileage heading into NFL.

If you buy into Dameion George being a package deal with Zach Evans, then George's OV list is noteworthy
Texas, Bama, Georgia, OU, Missouri

Yeah, I know Milton really likes OSU.
Think it’s a pretty clear top 3, but who knows for sure.
