Yes and a one/two hour drive is even closer. Most wouldn't be saying anything if the mention of his father's heath wasn't brought up. Wish him the best and his father but I think many thought something like this would happen.

After reading through the thread...the salty fans seem to be those from State.

Thunderbird had great points, only to be met with salty State fans.

It is pretty crazy to see the melt from the State fan. Not at all what I expected when I clicked on the thread.

He didn't realize that Auburn only has one available spot and it's already taken by EJ Montgomery. He needs to hold his place at a backup on the off chance we have no transfers or Wiley or Heron don't go pro.

Just thinking something doesn't smell right here... but it is what it is. We still have the #5 class in the nation, #1 in SEC for '18, and will probably add to it.

Maybe he wasnt willing to go somewhere he didn't want to be just because of geographical location and compromised some on both?

That's a big difference. You get the call that says you need to come home, it's a reasonable drive. 13 hours not so much.

You dont make the "I want to be close to a sick family member" excuse and go from 13 hours away to still over 7 hours away. You go somewhere within a few hours. 7 hours is still a day's drive, not "Easy" whatsoever. If this excuse was indeed true, he would have ended up at like FSU or UF...maybe Auburn, schools within a real short driving distance. Not somewhere where it's a "Hey yeah, I'll see you tomorrow probably"

Sure, but that is what many are just trying to point out. There were defiantly other factors then just the health of his father.

Come on State guys. Do y'all even know the whole story? Dude has been playing ball in Arkansas with the same guys for years. So basically his best friends. They all committed to Arkansas to continue playing together.

I don't care if his dad played there. The optics of this just isn't right. Something very big would have to change for him to make this decision.

Arkansas will be fine. They have a lot of in state talent committed over the next few years. Perry is a OAD, and he chose a program with little or none basketball prowess???

Someone got paid. End of story.

Nah. We only know who is committed to us and can't wait to have him. And hopefully Robert Woodard and DJ Stewart join him shortly. Howland is building something great here.

I'm no math wizard, but when he says he wants to be closer to home than Fayetteville, would 7 hours not be closer than 13 hours? That's nearly twice as long. He didn't lie...7 hours is closer than 13 hours. Perception is key. Arky fans tryin to fit the narrative.
