P5 signees by state ...

How many D1 prospects in your state signed with P5 programs this year?
I used ESPN and 247 and counted 30 for the state of SC.
Historically that's not bad for our little state. 35 total signed D1 LOIs but only 30 of those signed with P5 conferences.
I suspect the higher ranked classes had two or three times that many signed within their states.
Obviously Bama and Clemson may be the exceptions.

For instance ... I just counted 91 players from the state of Georgia that signed with P5 programs. The majority of their Top 30 players signed with Georgia.
Georgia is a football prospect factory. Gotta be the best per capita in the country when you combine sheer numbers with player rankings.

Just counted 33 for the state of Tennessee. Odd for a state with a population of more than a million and a half larger than SC.

I think I count 40 so far for Alabama. Lowest ranked on 247 was the number 61 player (a kicker) who signed with NE. Next was number 57 player (WR) who signed with Vandy,

That is unreal. I knew Ga had some real talent, but wow. I figure Florida has got to have a really high number as well.
How are you counting this, I'd be interesting in looking some other states numbers?

I'm using 247's and ESPN's signings state by state.
It's pretty impressive when you look at the number of Top 300, 250 and 100 players there are in each state as well.
Per capita the state of Georgia had a monster year.

TX, FL, GA, LA and MS turned-out a ton of non-P5 players of course. Texas the most non-P5 players followed by FL then GA of all the SEC states. Mississippi also turned-out a lot of non-P5 talent. I suspect most of those non-P5 players in those states had grade issues.
SC had the best P5 to non-P5 ratio this year for some reason.
Was surprised to see how many players Purdue took out of what few players there were in Kentucky.
The B1G raped Missouri for what little talent there was there.
LSU, as usual, dominated in-state recruiting in LA.
NC, as a border state and important to SC, UGA and UT especially ... I did them just for the heck of it. Given their population base their D1 P5 signees was below average.

I don't think we signed a player from Kentucky. 5 from Ohio, 8 from Florida, a couple each from Michigan, Alabama and Georgia, etc.

Georgia is even more loaded in talent in 2019 than 2018. Georgia has always been loaded. This is what always frustrated us about Mark Richt. He let too many good ones get away.

Why are you so butt hurt over UGA signing the number one class? It's not like we got any of the recruits you had a shot at. Kentucky is a basket ball school that's the only reason their still in the SEC.

Yep, of the 10 in KY Purdue took 5 incl the #2 player in the state ... 4* player. Louisville got the #1 player in the state ... 4* player. Duke took the #3 player in the state ... 4* Dlineman.
I would imagine that Stoops wanted all three of those kids.

- Mark Richt and UGA can't dominate the in-state recruiting the way they should... it costs them when they play good teams
- Fire Mark Richt for what is perceived as a better recruiting Head Coach with a stronger competitive drive
- Dominate in-state recruiting and play in a national championship
- Must be cheating their asses off

You can't sign'em all but it looks like SC and Auburn and Clemson are all going to have banner years taking leftovers out of Georgia. Bama will get theirs too but maybe not as many as in the past.
Georgia is showing 127 D1 prospects for 2019. Over 100 will sign with P5 programs. 28 are listed as top 300 right now ... by far the highest per capita of any state. Not even close.

Louisiana will hold it's own next class, we always do, but it should be better than 2018 and hopefully LSU can rack up the talent once again.
