This game is basically Cignetti playing the CFB video game on Freshman mode.
I truly don't understand what I'm seeing. This dominance feels like I'm watching a Nick Saban Bama team more than anything else.

she was obviously not panicked. maybe my screenshot pics aren't coming through for everyone on the other end. she's smiling, calm, vaping, just generally chilling behind the wheel.
this narrative that she's panicked and freaking out is ridiculous and so easily debunked just by watching the video.
I saw the screenshots fyi. But seeing as how she completely sped off, that was anything but calm, imo. She was panicky in the sense that as soon as the other cop ordered her out of the car, she was getting ready to speed off. To me, it looked more like she was trying to run away from her troubles, evading arrest. And less liked she had murderous intent with purposely trying to run over the cop. Imo, that could have just as easily been her friend in the way of the truck with her recklessness.
In any case, does it really matter? The lady is dead. She won't be on trial. The cop will be.
quote:
we've all been there--when we're panicked, we smile, slowly put our cars into drive, casually grab our vape, hold it in our mouth while we grip the wheel, then completely disregard everything in front of us as we accelerate to the encouraging words of "drive baby, drive"...because we're so panicked.
I'm not sure how you took what I said as a defense of her. Most of us haven't been there. Because some of us are better drivers who know how to pay attention to our surroundings.

tale as old as time. could have happened to anyone.
Anyone who's a shitty driver who puts the car in gas without paying attention to their surroundings, yes.

I'll be honest, this does change my view a bit.
The lady was entirely wreckless. I thought the cop was in front of the car the entire time, but it looks like he just so happened to walk in front, and things happened incredibly quickly from there.
From my view, once the other cop commanded her to "get out of the fricking car". The deceased lady went into panicky white woman mode. She was just trying to floor it immediately to run away from the big bad scary policeman barking orders at her. She was in such a rush, not paying attention to her surroundings at all, she was completely leaving her friend behind.
So yea, it still doesn't look like she was intentionally trying to run the cop over. But she was not paying attention to her surroundings when she was trying to speed off. That's incredibly dangerous, as that could have just so easily been another pedestrian she would've hit trying to speed off blindly.
Did the cop NEED to shoot her. I'm not at liberty to say. Do I believe he's guilty of murder? No. Would he have gotten hit if he did not jump out of the way? Yes.

Even if Miami doesn't win it all. They've basically solidified that we will never go back to the 4-team playoff ever again, as some would want.
Good luck in the NFL, young man.
Is Indiana's dominance sustainable going forward?

I think everyone here can agree that what Cignetti has done these past 2 seasons is absolutely amazing. 2 straight playoff appearances. Heisman winner. They have a really good chance at winning it all this year. Is this type of success what we can expect from them going forward, or are they just destined to revert back to the mean.
Historically, they have a record of 508-691. Since joining the Big 10 in the 50s, this season was only the 2nd time they have ever won the conference. Their fanbase has never cared about football. Will they have a large enough booster buy-in to carry the program forward.
Recruiting wise, 2026 will be the first time in Cignetti's tenure that they have had a top 20 overall(freshman & portal) recruiting class, according to 247. Still no 5-star guys. Cignetti is a great coach, but just for how long can he rely purely on "diamond in the rough" guys.

This game was a lot of fun. I was rooting for Miami. But credit s where credit is due. This Ole Miss squad was really freaking good. Thank goodness the man responsible for building the program to where it is, is our head coach.
I'm excited as frick for the future boys!

Miami is 10000% lucky that they're up by 4 and not 3.

I talked shite about Beck all game. But he did what necessary on this last drive. I thought for sure he was going to blow it.

Good first down.
Now. Run the fricking ball.
Now. Run the fricking ball.
Beck is absolutely TERRIBLE.
Why is this guy trying to return to college again? To me it seems like he is NFL ready.

They still need to play Oregon, who is a really good football team also.

Did the Miami defensive backs rub their hands with butter today or something?

At this point, I don't see a reason for Miami passing the ball the rest of the game
Do I even need to repeat myself?
