I think he lost his offer when Deatrich Wise committed. That also was around the same time Willy was let go.
Hard to believe that any recruit would be pissed that we let Willy go.

He's done the hard part, telling the Tenner coaches. And as I understand, he's not taking any calls now. However, I won't count him until we get the fax.

LSU folks, Peters was the Defensive MVP in the Offense/Defense All Star game, I heard. Glad y'all 'didn't have room'. We'll take him.

Coaching stability an issue at Tennessee, also, Arkansas is losing 2 LBs and is looking for an immediate impact guy there. Otha Peters should play as a true freshman there, he's physically ready.

I think he is the #1 guy that we did not offer out of LA this year IMO. Coaches simply are going for speed which Otha lacks but he is big and talented.

We have 7 LBS and could be 8 with Kwon.

So, why is it that people feel he (Kwon Alexander) has less of a chance of competing at Alabama. He would only be the 6th LB in Alabama's class. Alabama is also replacing 5 LBs off the 2011 depth chart. Two more will leave after 2012. I know he's a better fit for the 4-3, but he could grow into a nice SAM LB in the 3-4 (i.e. Jerrell Harris).

And this is why we aren't on the same level as LSU and Bama yet.

We only have 3 committed.

Meh. Alabama takes 5-6 often. We play four LBs in our base defense and substitute lots of other guys in certain packages. We need them. LSU was just devoid of depth. Arkansas' single biggest issue on defense isn't LBs, in my opinion. It's the lack of physical specimen on the defensive line.

Disagree. DL (when healthy) worries me a helluva lot less than LB or the secondary.

Huge get for my Hogs. Peters is a bad mo fricka. I watched him play twice this season. He can run. Not sure why LSU would think his lack of speed would hurt him....

I think that was willy's scheme. he want guys to sit in the gaps and tackle. that shite don't work. Our DL tore through the Kstate Oline which in all honesty was probably the best part of their team.

The point is that in a 4-3, the lack of overall LB talent can be masked with great defensive line play and ballhawks in the secondary. LSU did just that in 2011.

Yea brah that's what we do here. We've been the next SEC team to be picked for the game the last two years.

Yes we know. And kid named Ryan Briggs beat out Landon Collins for district defensive MVP, and has no big offers. At the end of the day you have to realize if we wanted Peters we would have got him. Its not that we 'didnt have room', its that we didnt want him. Now enjoy the leftovers and third/fourth best place.

Don't even bother with them on this. Apparently they think even without a defense you're NC material playing in the SEC without a black jesus.
