You actually believe that?

If Kirby hired a coach simply because of where he was stealing him from, he’s a bumbling idiot. There’s no way that occurred. That’s some WWE stuff man.

other than home state advantage and family ties, what specifically in the Kair Elam recruitment has you so certain that Elam is a Gator?

Seems all the fan bravado right now is on Gator side but just wonder what that is based upon.

You're asking that after posting this 2 weeks ago...

I’ve been consistent since Torrian Gray was hired. This has been over since that was announced. Florida upgrades at DB coach and Elam is a Gator.

Was there not arrogance from the UGA side (maybe not necessarily you, but in general) about taking Warren from UF to help with Elam? That seemed to be the overwhelming response from Georgia fans.

IDK. There shouldn't have been.

I think a lot more goes into hiring decisions than a single 4* recruit. Many recruits, maybe, but that impact is unknown to anybody on this board.

ETA: Warren basically fit Kirby's past hiring patterns. Young-ish, from the southeast, college guy with a recruiting pedigree.

As a UF fan, I don't think Kirby hired Warren to get Elam. That is short sighted thinking.

I do think that stealing a rival's DB coach factored into it. However, if Warren sucked as coach then Kirby would have hired someone else. Mullen hire Warren for the same overall reasons as Kirby. Warren is a good coach.

I do think that the timing of Gray being available for Mullen hire was an upgrade for Mullen.

call me crazy but I think some of yall are way overthinking the situation. I'm CERTAIN kirby didn't hire CW to help get a single recruit we're after. I'm nearly certain kirby didn't hire simply becuase it would cause a headache for florida. I'm reasonably certain kirby hired CW because we had an opening at that position and we liked the guy and his resume, pretty basic stuff here.

Look at UT...I don't think pruitt and fulmer got together and said "UGA is on top right now we've got to do anything to take them down a notch, I know...let's take their OC from them!" It was simply a case of them not liking the guy they had and liking chaney's resume (and he's been at ut before) and going after him.

I think that is exactly Fulmer's thought process.

Maybe, but compare our class to Florida's.

And look at what Kirby did with expectations last year.

Underachieved with that roster.

He hit about right on expectations, actually. Bowl game being the lone exception

I'd argue 75+% of UGA fans thought we'd go 11-1 and lose in the SEC Championship.

Obviously the bowl game sucked, but we finished as a top 10 team and that was about where we expected to be. Maybe slightly worse.

What the hell are you even talking about? We lost damn near our entire defense, two of the greatest RBs ever in the SEC, our best receiver and our best lineman who protected Fromm's blindside.

I was told UGA is like Bama now.

They reload, not rebuild

UGA should’ve went 12-0 last year and Kirby blew it in two games and had his team completely unprepared in the Bowl Game.

lol, ok. The concensus from our fans was we would go 11-1, which we did. Unless you're current-era alabama nobody "should" go 12-0 with an SEC schedule. Even in the spurrier/meyer tenures that was a pretty rare feat.

And the talent thing is misleading. Sure if you remove names and classes and only look at star ratings our top to bottom roster is excellent. But so much of the people we counted on last year were awfully young.

qb was a true soph
rb was a true soph
lt was a true soph
rt was a RFr
starting cb was a TFr that was benched and replaced by a RFr
starting S was a soph
staring nose was a TFr
starting G was a TFr

we are massively upgrading our roster from just 2-3 years ago but it's still ridiculously difficult to go 12-0 with a starting lineup full of underclassmen.

And I mean...if going 11-1 and coming 1 quarter away from making the CFP is underachieving I think that's a pretty damn good indictment on where we are as a program right now.

We're trying to get there, but we're not there yet (obviously). Hopefully we'll have the talent going forward where it is more of a reload than rebuild.

There is only one Bama my man and we did have the youngest roster in the SEC last season, if Fromm stays healthy we should be back in Atlanta come December with a shot at the playoff. Congrats on Elam, he was a must get for UF.
