I read that he is going to go a visit at LSU and stop in Oxford, Ms. at Liggins Square and announce on ESPN tv as he is putting on a Bama helmet .....then all of a sudden....drop it ......and pick up a MS helmet and shout....Brother Oh Brother, I'm coming home as he rings his cowbell.........and then the square at Oxford will be renamed.......LigAkemdiche Square........

What position will he play at Bama since he so obviously a lock. Will he play the Jack

YESSIRRRR

Our MOST EFFECTIVE Jack LB under Saban was this year with Upshaw, who was MOST effective at his heaviest weight (around 265-70 this year) but he was also athletic, RN is 10x more athletic

FWIW Clowney would've played the same position at Bama

Hell, coaches thought Julius Peppers could play OLB for a team or 2 back when he was a Carolina FA. Mario Williams did it, so I bet Peppers could have too. If you're that great an athlete, weight doesn't matter. And Nkemdiche is hyped as that type of talent.

There is a difference between 43 DE and a 34 OLB, but it's overblown. Especially with the spread looks it has to give in today's game...

I considered Upshaw to be a DL this year anyways. How may plays did he play standing up?

Maybe 1 in 10, if that. And I'll bet the vast majority of the snaps he played without his hand in the dirt he was still rushing the QB.

That's what I was about to say. It's already an insignificant number of snaps standing up, so they're just gonna keep dwindling when you count the times he dropped into coverage.

Some players just can't make the switch, but it's really not a drastic change from DE. Yeah, you have to stand up and give a token coverage every once in a while, but it's really not vastly different.

Don't tell the recruits that are interested in the position that though

I thought four years ago when upshaw signed that he was a prototypical 4-3 DE... with as much nickel with 4 down linemen teams run these days (due to 3+ wideout sets) there's not a whole lotta difference in the two.

It was cool to see him all decked out in State gear the other day when his new brother signed

I love recruiting and how fans blow things up to make themselves feel better. Sorry but not sure how wearing a tshirt becomes being all decked out unless you are saying that was all he showed up in.

Robert Nkemdiche stood behind his friend and teammate Nick Schuessler on Wednesday wearing a Mississippi State T-shirt.

I hope it was not cold that day.

Didn't Lucky or someone similarly connected over at BOL hint that Nkemdiche has been committed to us for a pretty long time now?

I don't follow recruiting as closely as most but was flipping through and saw a small bit of the "In the Huddle" recruiting show on CSS. They were showing this guy and another stud and Jamie Newberg was commenting on them already being Bama commits for the 2013 class. TFWIW

The ban bet still stands. Any takers?

Not that it will matter, but I'll double down on this one. I'll leave with Trey if RN doesn't sign with Bama. Not sure it would result in any more takers, but if RN doesn't sign with Bama I'll accept a ban from NSD until kickoff 2013.

Please, please let some State fans jump in on this bet.

Bolded the only part of your statement that isn't true. He knows, Saban & the Bama staff know.

He committed at an unoffical in the fall.

So far I've seen everyone talk about him definitively, but only 3 people willing to go ban bet. Come on. Join in. All the cool kids are doing it.
