I think Saban sorta has a "sweet tooth" for Louisiana prospects, where he'll lower his standards looking at lesser tiered recruits. I think that too is an ulterior motive, looking at the big picture(potential pipelines).
I agree with you on this. But don't discount Saban's psychology background on this. He's the one that said LSU fans have the worst case of catastrophe syndrome of anywhere he's been. He knows we're his biggest hurdle to climb each year and knows that an easy way to get our dumb arse fanbase riled up is to keep pulling kids from Louisiana. That causes unrest and feeds negativity.
That's not me being paranoid. If I'm smart enough to think about how effective it is for him to do that, he's already thought of it 10 times. It's part of him always looking for even the littlest edge. I think he's a dickbag, but he's a smart dickbag.

The kid has legit offers
Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, FSU, and Texas

I never questioned his talent.
None of his offers are from coaches that use as strict a physical guideline as Saban does. He doesn't fit the mold of what Saban looks for.
I would venture to guess though that only about half of the 6 schools you listed would accept his commitment on the spot right now without asking him to camp or it being a joint commitment ceremony with his teammate.

Probably not. We have plenty of depth.

I dunno maybe Saban saw something he liked
lets see, he wants him at summer camp
Its almost as if he wants someone else at that camp and hopes Roberts can give him a ride or at least get him to go 2 states over because he has a buddy going with him.

LF may not care how many runningbacks a team has when he makes his decision.
Some kids like the challenge and when they hear or read people say he wouldn't win the starting spot due to Alabama's depth it's an attractive challenge, almost like a chance to prove he's the best of the best.
Heck, he may feel slighted that so many corndogs think he is in their pocket.
Be careful y'all don't push him away.
Truth be told he's got Les and LSU in his pocket.

Yeldon is a pooooor man's McFadden and LF is the best RB since AP. LF's talent is on another level.
