Looks like it's an LSU vs Tennessee battle, although he did name A&M in his top 5 and Tim Brewster is a hell of a recruiter, could definitely be a factor.

My thought is LSU has 4 spots left and if things fall into place we won't have any room for him.

1.) Surtain Jr.
2.) Kelvin Joseph
3.) Mario Goodrich
4.) JaMarr Chase

He’s not coming to LSU, we don’t have room for him. We’ve already had to turn away Joiner and Watkins, Beal is definitely out.

We have no room.

He's a tweener TE/OT type. We were thinking about taking him and growing him into an OT but in all honesty it's just a dumb take for us because all our current TEs are basically small OTs. We don't need any more of them which is why we signed Zach Sheffler and took Randy Moss' kid as a transfer from NC State.

Simply put, just folks way up higher on the board we are looking good to land. As the other poster stated above, we turned away Harold Joiner and Justin Watkins recently who are near Top 100 overall players.

Gotcha. Yeah, if we had 4 spots left, I don't think he'd be a take for us, at the moment we have 10-11 spots and could use another TE.

Can he block, IYO?

That's his strength, actually being a pass catcher will be more of the question. He's listed 6'5 250 but believe I heard he's closer to almost 270ish now.

Well, we got our pass catcher when Woods- Anderson signed, Helton loves the 2 TE sets, could definitely use a bulldozer at the other spot.

He's from John Curtis who runs a veer, so he doesnt get many opportunities to catch the ball at all. It's tough to judge those guys from offenses like that as pass catchers because they get so few opportunities.

Malachi Dupre was a 5-star from John Curtis as a WR and he just never panned out. Had some of the worst hands on any WR we've had here. He would tear up camps but when game time came around would just really struggle getting catches...it's a tough transition from getting thrown to in high school maybe a couple times a game vs. trying to be a main target in college in a modern offense. Dupre averaged less than 3 catches per game in high school his last 2 seasons there at JC, think about that a 5-star WR stuck in a veer offense getting thrown to MAYBE 4-5 times a game.

Was Tech running the Veer when Megatron was there? I can't remember

Missed it by 2 years

Demariyus Thomas was in Paul Johnson's triple O offense though. 46 catches for 1,154 yards and 8 TD his junior year.

Basically was F-it, chuck it deep to Thomas when they threw it

Future SEC starter. Strong and tough, excellent athlete, could potentially put on more weight and shift inside. Lots of talk about his character-which I think isn't really the case. Whoever gets him gets a good one. LSU doesn't think they will have room.

IMHO, this is just the kind of kid that's going to fall to "lesser programs" and kind of distribute talent more equitably. There will be a LOT of great players that could have signed with "better programs" earlier who now won't have a spot and end up with teams on the bottom of the league. I think that's a GREAT development for parity and competition. It puts a premium on good evaluation and sends the kids with character issues and grade issues elsewhere.

Tennessee is probably the only school with room for him in his top 5 if they're still recruiting him.

Good athlete for a dude his size. Has some nastiness to him he got suspended for poking a opponent in the eye on a pile last year intentionally. (I'll link the video below). Unfortunately lsu doesn't have room for him. Comes from a run oriented offense that uses the run to set up more runs lol so don't not really know how good his hands are.

good jumbo athlete, would be a good take for UT; widely thought he would be in this class for LSU but he just waited too damn long to commit.

pass catching would be a question if he stays at TE; unsure of his potential there as he does not get opportunities in that high school offense. as a blocker, he is the kind of TE you want in the game on 4th and goal. may grow into an offensive lineman.
