Gaston, your son must have more faith in Billy than the entire Florida fan base.

Good for him.

I hope some of these nerds that get all worked up about kids flipping will see this and realize they need to chill out.

Looks like he has a good leg

Trash Bin Billy will need him to keep that scoring streak alive against our top foes

Not this past summer, but the summer before we drove to 5 SEC schools for camps and tryouts. At every one we would stop by the stadium right as we’d pull into town. At UF the Swamp was open (only 1 of the 5 completely open) and students were mulling around. That was his favorite.

He kicked the best of all 120 kickers and we met Billy in his office…but it was just a PWO and my son didn’t want to go public with that offer. Got Ark and Ole Miss offers before his Jr year…chose Ark during last season since the OM special teams coach is…special.

Last summer Evan wanted to go back to UF to try out again. They hired a new coach Joe Houston, who was at the Patriots, to help with special teams and he was up for giving Evan another shot.

Evan put on a clinic. Made kicks from 50, 52, 55, 58, then put down this 60.

After that kick the coaches called out the snapper and holder, Evan makes 2 more 60’s with the live operations. They move the crew to the far side of the field and setup for a 62. Coach ices Evan right before that kick and they all wait a bit and reset. Evan kicks it dead straight and easily has the distance.

That not only impressed the coaches, it won him favor with the players. Crawshaw was the holder and he had a big smile…like holy shite kid that sounded perfect. He just ended up getting along with the players much better. He’ll get a redshirt freshman year and back up Trey Smack.

He’s always wanted the offer, it took really fitting in with the players for the coaches to realize the fit.

The only scenario that scares him is Lane Kiffin. If he can just avoid that…lol.

I know…ouch. Going to the Ole Miss game. I went to LSU for 8 years…so this weekend doesn’t work as well for us.

Silly question

Did yall ever visit SC. Obviously Beamer ball is a big thing and he has a knack for putting punter/kickers in the league.

Just was curious

No…and they ended up offering two kids in Evan’s class. No good reason why we didn’t. I think Ev was already committed to Ark when y’all started looking and the kicking coach (and ranking service) sent y’all the best available kids.

Congrats to your son. My boy is a kicker as well. Currently listed as a 3.5*. as a 15 yo. Currently he really likes the Raging Cajuns. We’ve been taking him to different schools to let him see what’s out there. Went to TCU camp in June. Took him to National Kohl’s Showcase in Gatlinburg in July. Went to Texas/Georgia game but he still likes ULL.

That camp changed my son’s life. Left his first one as the only 5 star in the country and #1. Really kicked his belief into high gear. Find an Adam Tanalski camp. A 64 from yesterday:
