Believe there are now 4 FBS teams in Georgia

One Aggie fan contradicting another’s assertion.
Point is the State of Georgia is very transient, and UGA has had amazing luck outside of the state (Florida, NC, SC, etc.). The tired argument that UGA should sign every top player is ridiculous. There are 200+ D1 athletes with, as you stated, a few schools. Will A&M reach the state? Probably not, because there are really good schools that border the state.

It really doesn't matter if we do or not. I appreciate that our staff doesn't rest on their laurels and tries to expand the footprint a bit

Obviously out of state schools are recruiting out of Texas. Acting like one team is going to get all of the best recruits in Texas is just dumb.

Looked it up, it's 3 (Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State)
and apparenty Texas is up to 12

Yeah and GT is basically a service academy and I didn't even know there was a Georgia State

I mean we have more than double AQ teams than they have FBS

And yet, you get them all and can't do anything with them.
And, even though "Alabama and Auburn get all the good recruits in Georgia", we still manage to finish higher than A&M in the SEC. Wow. You guys are so weak...and not that Manziel is gone it will only get worse!

We didn't start recruiting at this level until recently.
And tell us...whose fault is that? Ahhhh, yes. Texas. The only real program in YOUR state.

Nobody "keeps" in-state talent in TX. There's 11 D1 football programs in TX + a good chunk of the nation pulling out of it.
Can't be true. You guys have Texas locked up, remember?
And Georgia doesn't have any other schools pulling from them, right?

As they should. Nobody can sit in their own state anymore and survive.

Yet totally logical to say Georgia should get all the best recruits with Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, and Florida coming in? I mean, you have all the National Championship winning teams in the last 7 years sitting on our doorstep. (Except for LSU, of course) Sitting in close proximity to A&M? One.

Quality is what counts...not quantity. All but one National Championship team in the last 7 years are in states bordering Georgia.

Auburn, Clemson, and Florida State are literally right on the Georgia borders. Auburn's campus is closer to most of the heavily populated areas of Georgia than Georgia's campus is
Beside Atlanta, I believe the biggest cities in Georgia are Columbus, Albany, and Augusta. Auburn is definitely closer to Columbus and Albany

Probably because you let those teams take your best players

LSU has had some recent success getting defensive players from GA

A&M
2014- 2 out of the top 10
2013- 2 out of the top 10
2012- 2 out of the top 10
2011- 0 out of the top 10
2010- 3 out of the top 10
Are you fricking kidding me. A&M is talking trash about UGA and they can't even clean up their own state.
And just in case anyone was wondering how bad UGA has been.

Pretty terrible when your competition is a school that runs the wishbone and a school that started playing football 4 years ago
