Greatest recruiting class of all time

In 20 years of 247 sports history, the highest composite was Alabama in 2016 with 324.5 composite score.
Georgia is currently at 318.7, with either 4* Tommy Bush or 4* Quay Walker signing with us, as well as 3* Tramel Walthour.
I don't know the math, but this could be the greatest class of all time.

Will be determined in about 4 years.

I meant strictly mathematically.

USC had classes in the mid 2000s when they were pulling in 9 5*s

We can't catch that Bama class using 247's class calculator. We can get over 320 though which is one of the top 3 ranked classes ever.

Probably not the highest avg per player. I think usc had an abbreviated class that was higher points per player. But what a year. Congrats.

It's incredible impressive

We’re restrictsd to 25 spots, that Bama class signed close to 30 if I’m not mistaken. Last years class was epic, 2018 is blowing it out of the water but 2019 will probably be our best of the three. Kirby is doing work

How are we supposed to know how good this class is at math? That title probably belongs to a Stanford or Vandy type class though.

If Walker signs with UGA, we'll have 10 guys who are rated 5* by at least 1 service. Already at 8 on Rivals. 7 composite.

Things will be different going forward with the "relatively" hard cap of 25 per class (I know it's not concrete but in general that's the deal). Some of those all-time classes had like 29 or 30 kids signed. To do what we've done with only 25 is remarkable.

Since this thread is strictly mathematical in nature. You should know how the 247 Sports formula works that you're crowing about.

Not how the formula works.

He's already part of the calculator. He's currently committed to us.

The formula (for whichever rating service you prefer) takes the top [X] amount of signees generally. So yes while all 29 people wouldn't be added up together, it's surely easier to get a higher score the more lower guys you can drop. I mean we've got a kicker committed this year along with some low 3* guys that are positiosn of need. Several of those folks will be counted to our total score, whereas if we signed a class of 30 they wouldn't be.

This...honestly Bamas class last year was unreal

That is all well and good but the 2016 Alabama class some are accusing of having 30 signees, only had 25. Which is the exact number Georgia will sign in 2018.
But I think the OP meant 2017. That class signed 29.

f(x) = 7 UGA(5x)
f'(x) = 3x/7
You can look at this two different ways:
Either UGA has a 3/7 chance of winning the SEC each season during the next few years or UGA will win the SEC 3 of the next 7 years.

Poor coaching and UG general sucking will limit its historic affect.
