UGA played a shite ton of freshman this year. Especially on defense.
Cool, doesn’t change anything I said

Man Georgia’s run on recruiting is stupid. Man I wish we could steal Dell McGee.
Are y’all gonna go after a transfer QB to replace Jake? Or stet a freshman in Caleb a Williams if y’all beat us for him?
Seems like if Fromm comes back y’all should have the 3rd best odds to win the whole thing next year behind Ohio State and Clemson

Some rumblings that Jake might not come back and still turn to the NFL. I just don’t see it. Fromm regressed this year - partly a lack of experienced wideouts but Jake just looked bad and missed wide open targets that he didn’t miss his first few years. Many said his footwork and fundamentals got sloppy.
Should Fromm not use logic and turn pro anyway, UGA should have their pick of the litter of the Grad Transfees immediately eligible. Whether King, Brice or Costello.
Should Fromm leave and UGA not get a top grad transfer, they could be in trouble. There are two decent prospects in RFr Dwan Mathis and true Freshman Carson Beck but hard to imagine either would be ready to step in and play at the level required to compete for a Natty.
The rest of the roster is too good to waste on a QB not ready for prime time so hopefully Fromm comes back and gets back to previous level.

There’s a real chance another year of playing for Coley could plummet his stock even further

Who’s gonna play QB for Tennessee? Didn’t y’all have a good walk on?
Was that y’all or Arkansas? Couldn’t really tell a difference in you guys this year.

We don't have the exact a amount, but this could be the most expensive class ever purchased by any school.
Imagine how many recruits A&M could buy if they didn’t waste $75 mil on a 7-5 coach.

Where the frick do they get the $ from? Like who wants to play for Kirby Not Too Smart? Georgia underachieves every year. They just got raped in the SEC Championship game. Fromm gets worse every year and the Dogs have zero backing him up.

Apparently more kids want to play for UGA than your school. UGA overachieved in 2017 and hit expectations the following 2 years. Fromm did better in 2018 then did worse when every receiver left and OC’s changed. Only 3 sec teams have made the playoffs and UGA is one. Kirby accomplished more in 2 years than O has in his entire career. Everyone remembers O’s offenses prior to Brady.

That coupled with the fact UGA is the youngest team in the conference is a scary thought.
Alabama started 9 true freshmen.

I know you are trying to act hard, but Kirby as a head coach has accomplished no more than O, particularly if we beat Oklahoma. O was also smart enough to switch to the spread. Kirby has yet to figure that out. O has also beat down Kirby in 2018 and 2019.

So a walk on or??

Everyone remembers the fact that O turned the team around from Miles and that Kirby inherited a good team just like Ryan Day.

Kirby won the sec and made a natty in his second year as a HC. How many did it take O?

So now LSU fans are acting like miles couldn’t recruit?

Miles was a great recruiter early on and if you only go by class rankings later in his tenure. But when Orgeron took over, there were glaring holes on our offensive and defensive lines. And obviously he never recruited quarterbacks well at all (see him going all in on Felipe Franks).

Besides the playoff win what has Kirby done that Richt did not? I mean Kirby has recruited better so you would think the results are far better. I only ask this because Richt it would seem was let go because he could never get over that hump and the east seems a lot easier to get there now.
1st 4 years:
Richt 8-4, 13-1, 11-3, 10-2 overall 42-10(81%) with 1 SEC Title. 3-1 bowl record including 1 win in a NY6 bowl(Sugar)
Smart 8-5, 13-2, 11-3, 11-2 overall 43-12(78%) with 1 SEC title. 2-1 bowl record including 1-1 in NY 6 bowls(Rose & Sugar)
Yes Smart has a chance to win one more game and bowl this year. So the question is how long does he have to win a NC before UGA decides 10 win seasons and a few NY6 bowl appearances are not enough?

Kirby will, and should be,at UGA as long as he has us in position to make the playoffs. Richt was beloved in the 5th year of his tenure. He was let go after going 3 straight years without winning the East.
Posted on 12/22/19 at 8:30 am to atlanta917
Such revisionist history. O inherited a more talented team than Kirby.
Posted on 12/22/19 at 8:54 am to TideWarrior
Kirby made it to a natty in year 2. Richt never made it in 15 years. Smart is 1-0 in play in games for the natty. Richt is 0-1. Smart won the East 3 consecutive times. Richt never did.
Besides all of this, you’re acting like Richt was fired after year 4. He wasn’t. Richt was a good coach who fell off a cliff. If you want an actual comparison of who they are now, look at Richt’s tenure at Miami and compare it to Smart’s at UGA.
Last thing, it took Saban 10 years to make a natty. Smart got there in 2. Acting like smart is a bad coach because he didn’t come out the gate winning championships like Saban in his prime is moronic.
