15 dollar an hour min wage ain’t gonna bankrupt corporations and multinationals..but it might do so to mom and pop stores/restaurants/service businesses. Which will be replaced, if at all, with corporate owned chains.
Multinationals will destroy mom and pop stores with or without a $15 minimum wage

This is a truly terrible proposal.
I don't get it. You live in one of the poorest states in the US. You will never be a millionaire, let alone a billionaire. Why do you want to help these assholes that corrupt our politics and spend their time partying in the bahamas?

Everybody that makes that much with an iq above room temperature would show $31.9 million in earnings.
So basically it would be a pro athlete/actor/musician tax.
It's a tax on net worth not earning.

Either way, you have to be really retarded to even bring up something like that right now in the middle of a pandemic when businesses are closing left and right and tons of others are just about to go under. They'd have about 2 restaurants left in Louisiana and many other states with a $15 minimum wage and a gazillion places would go under. Every place is not NY or Cali.
Businesses in smaller states like Louisiana are being screwed because of huge corporations. Take at a look at McDonalds. McDonalds Gross Profit
Even during a pandemic, McDonalds still makes billions in profits. In the quarter ending September 30 2020 they made $2,905,000,000. Meanwhile, like you said small family owned restaurants are screwed. Many may go under without $15 minimum wage. Adjusted for inflation, the minimum wage was much higher in the 60s. In the 60s local businesses didn't just all go under. Before most of these huge corporations even existed, that money would go to a local family. This family would then spend it in the local economy. Now, it just goes to a billionaire who spends it in China to buy some CCP politician to screw Americans over.
So, in short whilst I think businesses can afford some raise in the minimum wage, you should blame large multinational corporations for businesses not having enough money to pay workers what they need to live.

Where is that UBI money going to come from? How can you have more people drawing money, than you have taxpayers paying it in?
I’m no expert on fiscal policy or UBI. But, there’s a few different ways you can implement UBI and with different focus goals. Someone like Milton Friedman basically wanted to eliminate all welfare and replace it with cash payments and stimulate the economy. Others think that the government ought to provide a decent living standard for everybody in the country and then if people want more they ought to work for it.
There are many ways you can pay for UBI and it also depends on how much you want. If you want like $30k a year you’d basically have to just take heaps of money from the Uber rich and that would be difficult to do and it would likely have negative economic impacts. But for say $1k/month it’s much more feasible. Andrew Yang’s main source of funding for his UBI is adding a 10% VAT and cutting some welfare programs. People would choose between $1k/month and their current welfare program. Economic growth from people spending their money and a few other minor taxes would pay for the program.
Another way to pay for UBI would be a wealth tax. It is estimated that $12k a year to every American would cost $3t. Bernie Sanders says his wealth tax (1% on every dollar earned over $32m and progressively increasing) would raise around $4.5T whilst a Wharton study found that it would raise around $3T. This would easily cover UBI. If What Sanders claims is correct then we'd have $1-1.5T left over this could returned to working and middle class americans through tax cuts.

When (not if) automation comes the government should pay everyone over 18 UBI. People having more money deters crime and it wouldn’t cause much inflation if done properly. Plus people working somewhat less is a good thing. People should have more time to do things they enjoy.

The real reason businesses are being screwed is because of large multinational corporations. Instead of getting food at a local family owned diner people buy it at an enormous fast food chain. Instead of a supporting a local bookstore people buy books on Amazon. If the rate of the minimum wage from the 60s had kept to today it would be around $23/hr. Small businesses would easily be able to afford a higher minimum wage if instead of money going to some billionaire globalist who doesn’t even pay tax here their profits came from the local community and went back into it.

Does this mean an immediate $15/hr minimum wage or progressively increasing it to $15 like NY, FL, CA?

What is to lose? I’m no expert on the kid but assuming his character is good then taking a 5 star LB to assist an area which we were atrocious in this year is a good thing and it would also take a 5 star LB from other top schools.

If you take say 24 you can take 26 the next year

has Bama ever hired the poster child for Title IX while under investigation for Title IX stuff?
I wasn’t really suggesting we hire Art Briles but I don’t see why hiring Will Muschamp or Derek Mason as an analyst is a terrible move.

I get that people have a disdain for coaches like Art Briles but look at Bama. But my objective opinion is that Bama hire former head coaches as analysts and it helps them a lot. Mike Locksley was awful as a coache but I think being an analyst helped him and later on he was was a good coordinator and recruiter for them and he is now the HC at Maryland where their program is improving.

Worth noting that Boutte did that as a true freshman too.

Shazz Preston’s dad is very good friends with WR coach Mickey Joseph. The leaders in his recruitment are LSU and Mississippi State.

Never ever look at the ESPN rankings. They are atrocious.
re: When do we see O make his first coaching move?
Posted by Speedy Greedy on 12/15/20 at 9:55 pm
Several recruits are waiting to see who LSU hires in many coaching positions. Recruits will want to see changes on the defensive end of the ball particularly because the atrocious Defense overall was completely unacceptable for LSU football.
