Gunnell is trending tOSU hard. Anyway, congrats on Hilinski. I know Oregon wanted him and he visited. Oregon just filled up at qb.

I am just glad we got our guy and the qb spot is secured. Oregon has poached two late in the last two cycles.

Don’t have to follow the drama.

Exactly how I feel...Hilinski is gonna be a stud if SC can give him a line

With Wolf already locking down 2020 guys, I think our line should be much improved over the coming years.

Man ... Hilinski has been on a twitter tear this past week recruiting for us. This young man is all-in and then some.

Heard he might fly-in for the big recruiting weekend ... that would be awesome.

Kinda wish he wouldn't have made the remark in the interview about Spurrier and him laughing about the LSU visit ... he definitely meant it as they were laughing about fans from both schools getting worked-up about it.

Sometimes I think we fans, those that go overboard either way when it comes to this recruiting stuff, deserve to be laughed-at.

But neither of them were laughing at LSU and I think some of the LSU fans on twitter overreacted and misinterpreted what they were laughing about.

He's definitely all on board ...

quote:

“The biggest thing when it comes to South Carolina is probably me being a recruiter for them,” Hilinski said.

He’s got a big, five-star target: Quavaris Crouch.

“I’ve talked to Mr. Crouch the other day about what it’s like to be a South Carolina commit,” Hilinski said. “Just trying to get all the pieces of the puzzle together and just trying to get that 2019 class to be special.”

Crouch is the 6-foot-2, 238-pound tailback/potential linebacker from Charlotte's Harding University High School who is currently ranked No. 11 in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Hilinski has said he’s also working to recruit five-star California corner Chris Steele, and USC has offered Hilinski’s top high school target, Kyle Ford.

And he’ll make it back to Columbia soon enough, with reason.

“I haven’t officially made any plans yet,” Hilinski said. “But I’m still trying to get back out maybe for a game or a big official weekend so I can help recruit with the coaches.”

Hilinski has said he wants to wear #3 to honor his brother Tyler, and looking at the roster it will be available in 2019 as #3 K.C. Crosby is a senior this year.

This was expected. No real surprises.

South Carolina has a way of really getting in early on these guys.

Great ability to scout talent. Hilinski just seems to be cut from a different cloth. Maybe bc of what he's gone thru.

No top QB is going to sign with us considering the two QBs we've already got.

Apparently our coaches offered a couple of guys in the same class as Hilinski without mentioning it to him...and it's not sitting all that well with him. Wonderful. Just wonderful.

quote:

What were South Carolina’s coaches saying as those other guys were offered?

Hilinski: “That’s the crazy part actually. I didn’t get anything from those coaches. I saw the offer over Twitter and I was kind of like, OK, you offered a couple of kids in my class and I didn’t hear that you were going to offer them. It’s kind of weird to me, just seeing that and not hearing from the coaches, because I know when I got offers from other schools, I called them before I posted them, so I thought it would maybe be a two-street. It’s just a little weird in my book, that’s all.”

quote:

Have you had a chance to talk with them to hash that out?

Hilinski: “I haven’t yet. I haven’t talked to them. I got a text from Coach Muschamp this morning, just me and my parents, ‘It’s a great day to be a Gamecock,’ but I haven’t gotten anything from anybody.”
